A mid-War project by Supermarine, the Wallow was an utter failure. Designed as a night fighter for use over Europe, the project sounded like a good idea in 1942. However, as other aircraft like the Spitfire and Typhoon were already popular by 1944, the project soon lost its importance. Regardless, the Wallow was used on four different missions and was successful in shooting down four unarmed transport aircraft.
