Recreated my last design to be smaller and therefore better suited for mobile platforms. The KM Ekranoplan (dubbed the Caspian Sea Monster) is quite an interesting vehicle. It is a mixture of airplane and hovercraft. Simply speaking, an ekranoplan is an airplane specially designed to fly at low altitudes above the water's surface. It takes advantage of the aerodynamic principle know as the “ground effect”. Basically the air between the wings and water's surface is very compressed and thus allows the plane to fly using less fuel and still very quickly. Also it allows to transport heavier loads than conventional planes.

19.3k SkipperBingActually no. I had wanted to but never got around to starting it. The wing curvature was by far the most difficult to make.9.8 years ago

14.0k ElijtheGeatI wish I could, but I'm using an iPod, and so I could never test the huge thing, so you should try making a Kalinin K-79.8 years ago
