F.T.R.C. 41 medium bomber
Another crappy thumbnail…
Anyways
History
The F.T.R.C. 41 was a medium bomber, in fact, one of the first bombers developed by RNP, in 1942. It could carry a payload of up to 5000kgs, although the most common loadouts were up to 3500kgs. Due to “certain requirements” the 41 was also equipped with a 37mm cannon, which was ALSO added partially due to the plane’s surprising maneuverability and speed, as well as the added air brakes, which didn’t have any intended purpose, besides well, air braking. (The gun was rarely used though, as it was a bomber, and removed in later variants.) During its time in service, it’s superior speed at high altitudes gave it the ability to out-run enemy fighters, but “just in case” it had 1 7.7mm rear gun, and another gun up front for the navigator/bombardier to use, although it had limited elevation/traverse. Overall, the plane would be given the title “3 manned wonder” for its great performance, especially since piloting it was a supposed “daunting” task, and by the end of the war, 2322 models had been produced, with some seeing service until the 1960s, as cheap missile testbeds, or even for civilian use.
(No extra variants cuz I’m lazy lol, sorry)
