[SU1946] Me P. 1090Z Modular Prop Aircraft (PRC)
SU1946 stands for Simple Universe 1946, it is a series of late-WWII (or prototypes) planes plus some fiction. Planes in this series would have significantly better performance than their historical counterpart, and would receive a "Z" in their names to distinguish them from other, more accurate replicas.
This is the propeller-powered counterpart of the other P.1090 I just uploaded. For the introduction of the real-world P.1090 and the story, please refer to the jet version of this aircraft.
Performance:
Varies according to modules installed, but generally takes 8 seconds to turn 360 and has a top speed of about 1135 km/h at sea level.
Please take off with 30% power and do not activate the experimental jet module until steadily flying.
Modules not installed on the plane(from front to rear, left to right):
Drop tanks x2
31 m2 outer wing set
Heavy fighter tail section with radio detector (Trim to rotate)
Experimental upper engine module (AG7 to engage, fits on the front pylon of the experimental carrier tail module)
Refueling pod (same as the one on my Me 262 HGIII, trim for extend/retract refueling drogue, AG5 for magnet, fits on the rear pylon of the experimental carrier module)
2x experimental sonobuoys (attached to bomb bay, AG3 for parachute, AG5 for beacon lights). It floats on water.
Experimental Carrier Tail Module (in orange), used to carry the experimental modules. When carrying this, please paint the nose and wingtips in orange.
Modules already installed:
Two-man nose module w/ 4x MK213 revolver cannons (150 damage, 900 m/s, 1200 rpm)
Gun pod with 2x MK213 30mm revolver cannons (same as those from HGIII)
Gun pod with 1x MK214 55mm autocannon (same as those from the P.1102/5Z)
bomb bay with 3 pylons
(NOT DESIGNED TO BE FLOWN WITH more than one of the above attached, choose one between 30mm gun pod, 55mm gun pod and bomb bay)
"normal" tail module
Activation groups:
AG1: Drag chute
AG2: Tail hook
AG3: Jettison bomb bay contents/parachute for sonobuoys (you can reassign them, as usually sonobuoys are only dropped one at a time)
AG4: Jettison all experimental modules
AG5: Magnet for refueling drogue/beacon lights on the sonobuoys
AG7: experimental top engine on/off
Trim: Radio detector/refueling drogue extend and retract.
The R4M wings are not included because they are not compatible with prop engines, and adjusting them outwards would cause them to be impractical.
Suggested configurations:
1. Fighter: 36 m2 wings + 30mm gun pod (or nothing) + normal tail
2. Heavy fighter: 31 m2 wings + 30mm gun pod + radio detector tail
3. Strike fighter: 31 m2 wings + 55mm gun pod or bomb bay + normal tail
4. Bomber: 36 m2 wings + bomb bay + normal tail
5. Experimental aircraft: 36 m2 wings + bomb bay with sonobuoys (or nothing) + experimental carrier tail (paint nose and wingtips orange)
6. ASW aircraft: 36 m2 wings + bomb bay with sonobuoys + radio detector tail.
This aircraft is more or less ideal for the WWII Torpedo Bomber challenge, and is able to win the WWII Dogfight challenge (you need to boom and zoom though, this thing can't out-turn the "enemy")
Mods used: 20mm Hispano autocannon, fine tuning, overload.
