The MiG-23 UB is a two-seat training MiG-23 fighter jet developed by the Mikoyan Design Bureau during the Soviet period. It is also known as the MiG-23UM. It was internally designated 23-51 and first flew in May 1969. The first MiG-23 UB was modified from a MiG-23S, and later from a MiG-23M. From 1970 to 1978, a total of 769 MiG-23 UBs were produced. This two-seat trainer aircraft is mainly used to train pilots so that they can become familiar with the operation of the MiG-23 series fighter jets.
