After the not so big success of Dacia 1100, the Romanians wanted a more successful car for their own and the international market, so they trusted again Renault and got the licenses to make a licensed copy of Renault 12, and the Dacia 1300 was born. It met a great success to the car market and it's considered one of the best communist cars, plus it dominated more than it's original counterpart (Renault 12).
