Mikoian-Gurevici 21 (MIG-21) Romanian army design
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 (Russian: ?????? ? ??????? ???-21; NATO reporting name: Fishbed) is a supersonic jet fighter and interceptor aircraft, designed by the Mikoyan-Gurevich Design Bureau in the Soviet Union. Its nicknames include: "balalaika", because its planform resembles the stringed musical instrument of the same name; "Olówek", Polish for "pencil", due to the shape of its fuselage, and "Én B?c", meaning "silver swallow", in Vietnamese. Romania ordered approximately 415 MIG-21 of which about 70 were UM / UB Between 1998 and 2003 they were upgraded by Aerostar Bacau 114 MIG-21 LanceR A / B / C of which A were 74, B were 14 and C 26 in 2017 and 2019 two MIG-21 LanceR A were transformed into C 72 being stored in Fete?ti, Bacau and Câmpia Turzii, a MIG-21 LanceR A was observed in Fete?ti as well as in Câmpia Turzii.
