The Douglas H-751 Aerocopter is a fictional but large passenger helicopter that can fit 16 passengers, is structurally advanced for a helicopter of its time, was in service for only 4 years (1951-1955) and is based on a dream I had last night.
Power came from two 7 meter long Pratt & Whitney X57 single-spool turboshafts rated at 10,000 kW each, making them the largest and most powerful engines to be installed in a helicopter of any type. Despite its similar name, the X57 was not directly related to the Pratt & Whitney J57 twin-spool turbojet engine installed in KC-135A Stratotankers and F-100 Super Sabres.
