@Dimkal the tails still look too extended, did you use a blueprint when you built the weapons?

  • F-6EJ Zenko 3.8 years ago

realistically its performance is ok except for the engine which is way too small to produce enough power. This also goes 500 knts with the wings not swept its not really feasible and its supposed to be more of an attacker based on the design. The engine just seems too small in comparisin to the rest of the plane to be honest. The functionality of everything is great however. On the design, it seems more eastern design than western design. Japan hasnt made an indigenous fighter yet so i would have gone more along the lines of a multrole fighter jet.

@Falkenwut you should have decreased drag points to achieve cruise speed instead of increasing thrust I always make sure the engine thrust is correct first then i adjust drag points

Yeah AOA is hard to control in SP so most builders make it more stable for ppl with just keyboard and stuff. So most of the time I don’t get upset with AOA@GuyFolk

  • FA-18C 3.8 years ago

I hope you don’t mind if I do give you some tips to improve though. Most of it is technical. For the thrust make sure you are dividing the planes real life engine thrust by the simple planes engine thrust and you will have the engine power ratio to use to get correct thrust. That’s probably the only thing I can think of. If you really want to imitate the engine you can also do this with a regular engine without afterburner thrust and then add a VTOL engine with that extra thrust tacked on. If you need me to be clearer please let me know. I am excited to find another builder kinda like me and some others on here who are committed to realism

@shipster yeah if that thing didn't break down it would have been awesome. Unfortunately, they tried a bunch of new things with it that didn't really work. The modern version of this is the littoral combat ships, oh those things drivetrains suck. They tried to use a combined gas and diesel gear and it just breaks the whole thing down.

The way I was talking about the f-16 was that if it didn’t have its fly by wire this would have been a problem. The f-16 has automatic yaw control for roll at high AOA. I was sayi. I should have thought it would be a problem on older aircraft. Ahh that would make sense on the missiles too much weight in the front or back usually causes it for me. Heres a good picture comparing the older models to the newer ones the E has about 40%-50% larger surfaces in the front and it makes quite the difference at Mach 2.5-3 so I would still say the surfaces are much larger. The AIM9A/B had a hit rate of about 20% so again 30-50% is probably not far off. I’m not trying to criticize you I assure that’s not where this is coming from. I am just trying to show my reasoning behind my comments. Really other than the missile thing I think it’s spot on.@edensk

  • NA F-100D Super Sabre (USAF) 3.9 years ago

Don’t forget the 9E also had better maneuvering than the a and b models due to much larger fins making it perform more like a L or a P model than the B. The L model has an 80% hit rate so I would figure the E would have a hit rate anywhere inside the 30-50% range from behind. It is harder to get missiles to work in SP especially when they like to go in circles so I guess it’s not a huge deal. I’m just more of a weapons guy than most people. I actually didn’t know about the high AOA roll but I guess it does make sense. I guess I should have known this from observing aircraft like the F-16 lol

  • NA F-100D Super Sabre (USAF) 3.9 years ago

I like it a lot it has a couple of problems like it rolling not the way it's supposed to but ill blame that one on crappy sp physics and then the missiles can't hit anything. The AIM-9Es weren't very maneuverable but there are at least more maneuverable than the AIM-9Bs because of the larger forward canards. The AIM-9E should be able to hit anything within the inner to mid range of the pipper. Other than those things i love the plane especially the true to real life flight model. Most people dont understand that these planes have huge AOA.

@ReinMcDeer Ah, yes if you are looking for new modules, I would recommend Syria and the F-16. I have the F-16, F-18, Syria, Persian Gulf, Supercarrier, FC3, Combined Arms, and I am quite liking the free C-130 Hercules rn. I have over 150 hours of flight time and those two have been my favorite. Although if you are just getting into it stick with FC3 for a while to learn the basics. Also, go on youtube and find the Grim Reapers channel. That's where I get all my tutorials. They have a ton of stuff on there for you to use or just watch for fun. Happy Flying,
