Habbit - I usually hug them closer to the body, but If you put them too close, the body will shoot itself and explode... It's a habbit of mine for not testing no body collisions with guns..
@Mustang51 unfortunately when it comes to hinges, the game's A.I. can't handle flying them very well... If you're not sure, here's a rule of thumb - if Autopilot doesn't work well, then the A.I. will find the quickest way to crash it xD
@Mustang51 Thanks, when doing custom wheels the game has a tendancy to cause an unusual drag force, causing the plane to veer crazily until airborne.. but landing is really satisfying on this one!
@DimitriIqbal91 I am not a fan of custom cockpits. Some do a brilliant job here, but if I really wanted to see detailed cockpits, I'd pick a game like DCS or some other, rather then SIMPLE planes...
Which to note, they have released an F-14 addon.. Pretty cool one
@Mustang51 I admit it isn't the most maneuverable of my works, however the weight balance and power ratio can be that tiny bit tricky without making the plane break the laws of physics xD
@Anony055 You will need to use XML editting or the overload mod to make the cannon disableBaseMesh = "True" in order to make the cannon part transparently blend into the body without causing it to jerk up.
@Aldriech To be honest It was very tight to fit in my original Model 985-20 aircraft inside. And to be honest I have plans to redesign this plane from scratch... make it more refined...
@Aldriech No problem mate, why not try to make your own version? With the new blueprint feature, maybe you can do the cancelled C-5 version? or maybe a fictional AN-225 with a tiny Mig-21 parasite fighter? would be awesome to see some variety on the airborne aircraft carrier spectrum...
@Mustang51 I wished to make the model as accurate as possible using the game's pre-designed look (with some XML-ing). Thanks to the new updated, I'm able to put blue-prints on the background and give the plane a more realistic look. However sometimes when using XML to change the size of the engine, the properties of its weight and strength change a lot. Sometimes outright reach mach 2 in a few seconds of putting full acceleration.
Also i noticed that these Fast fighters of the late 1950s till the 70s, the plane's body is relatively long and thin. Making my old models looks like closed turtle necks xD
@Bennet23 Using the new blue-print feature to scale the plane to its appropriate size, working on ALOT of revamping of my planes right now.. so, be sure to check out the new stuff coming soon ;)
I suggest making the wings for rolling and the pitch function on the front canards and make 2 overlapping layers. Take my Eurofighter Typhoon as reference..
@Gameboy21 indeed.. Wing designs can be pretty tricky in this game. Especially when it comes to flaps and vertical stabilisers. Will be looking forward to checking out your design! :)
@IStoleYourMeme It was pretty tricky...
a - Getting the right angle
b - making it work using XML to remove part-collision
C - Hiding in the body
d - Making sure that any additional parts don't lock the whole mechanism...
Other than that... I did that before with my 737-800, so... practice makes perfect...
This plane is mischievously difficult to replicate! Personally would have given the engines a tone down, but it's still well done! Great job! Keep up the good work!
@junglekiIIer The fusalage shape gives a more realistic look to the wing. The game's default wing is pretty much a block. This way, covering the wing gives a more realistic shape to the whole plane. If anything, It covers up the under-wing gears pretty well.
Personally I admit that I should have given the fuselage parts on the wings 0 mass through XML editting, but I realised that well after uploading it. I will consider it in future builds...
@TitanIncorporated i'm improving as I go. Took a bit more effort to make this - but once I got the tricks of the trade, it just got a hell of a lot easier :D
@Jokowi - as per your request...
@Inuyasha8215 I made that comment long before the update of the carrier wire came out... Gotta update this plane too...
+1@gaw22pilot Good dogfight we had ;)

+2@Jokowi thanks for your request - I will try to make it, however I will probably release it in a few days... got plenty of remakes coming up xD

& thanks for the critique ;)
+1@Mustang51 understood no worries, thanks for the advice :)

@Mustang51 I'm using the game's cockpit as a reference scale. The rest is proportioned using the game's blue-print feature. Thanks :)
+1@Anony055 Thanks for thinking so, though this copter need a lot of fixing in terms of handling... maybe i'll remake it soon...

@BuiltBionixInd10 fixed again... saving some trouble...
@BuiltBionixInd10 & @Gady13131
How embarassing... fixed...
Fantastic work! Much more detailed than mine xD
@Tang0five Thanks xD - I have to say that some parts tend to be long, making coloring schemes somewhat hard sometimes...

+1Very good try! You could check out my take on the Airborne aircraft carrier project. Followed official documentation and everything.

This plane reminds me of the Model 985-30 microfighter design i did a while back... Awesome job
+1@Mustang51 Glad you like it :D
@edensk Fixed, thanks :)
+1keep up the good work!
Pretty good! Keep up the good work!
Very well done! really like the whole appeal of it! Keep up the good work!
+1@Tang0five Thanks for your comment :).
As for controlling it, I noted the following stuff (on Windows Version)
1 - It takes a lot of runway to take off
2 - When moving the flaps, the centre of lift rapidly shifts, making the plane pitch susceptible to quick pitch and stall
3 - When rolling from angle to centre, the plane has a tendancy to yaw a bit, causing an extra few degrees of turn before centring back.
4 - The plane rolls when using the trim (my fault, should have caught it before uploading)
Would like to see anyone suggesting solutions for future wing-plane developers...

Looks awesome - As for the performance problem, perhaps it's because the Centre of lift is too far back and the Centre of Mass is too far forward.
Perhaps you can get them closer to eachother by making hidden wings inside the body closer to the cockpit?
Worked on this concept a while back myself. A bit unstable... though looks awesome!
This plane is mischievously difficult to replicate! Personally would have given the engines a tone down, but it's still well done! Great job! Keep up the good work!
@pancelvonat
had fun testing this out on multiplayer!
+1Thanks for the results, appreciate your efforts, was a fun challenge :)
+1ONE MONTH TO GO!!!
ONE MONTH TO GO!!!
@TheFantasticTyphoon
@TheFantasticTyphoon will work on it :) thanks for the suggestion
+1@Tang0five this is my second attempt at full wing design, will try to make it better on my newer uploads ahead...
@junglekiIIer That too - again, through XML editting, I think it should be easily dealt with
CORRECTION: Checked through the game's drag view - doesn't do much drag... (still could XML fix them)

reminds me of the triebflugel
@JediWolf the magnets were surprisingly tricky... making them too strong literally tore the microfighters too shreds!
