Notice the number of parts, number of control surfaces, wing area, etc... The cockpit isn't attached to the plane. When you try to fly it, the cockpit is thrown from the fuselage.
@ahappyape Thank you so much! I found you do need a vertical stabilizer, more toward the back of the plane. Having vertical stabilizers near the front don't seem to help it fly straight...
