Nicely! We’ve reviewed some blueprints (if it’s on yellow graph paper is it yellowprints?) and made some changes to the original design. I was just about to start on a prototype (which we will later use as a testbed for new tech) frame. @KingHandspider
Alright! And for the actual competition, will the car be driving against another in a multiplayer server, or will it be time trial based? @KingHandspider
As of right now we’ll focus on the smaller aspects of the car, I had a few questions about the front wing actually.
I’m experimenting with some designs right now. One of my ideas was to have an endplate with a small structural wing angled away from the side of the endplate. (It’s a bit hard to explain, I have images but idk how to enter them.) it’s goal is to basically vector air around the car instead of it hitting the edge of the tire. Is this allowed?
I’m now rolling on the floor laughing my throat out (it might be all of the cold medicine I’m on) but for some reason the ‘Firth of may’ is THE funniest thing in the world right now.
Yeah! I was really focusing on studying for a PPL (which I’m still way too young to get) but now I’m focusing on aerodynamics and front wing design in F1. My Indy500 car was based off of your AndyCar. It’s really a shame how we can use only four downforce plates, I’m used to making wings with up to 30 of them. That’s alright though, we have a design ready and we’re working on the blueprints for the car. The trickiest thing would be making up for lost downforce (40% of it actually) because the floor of the car will have to be a symmetrical wing, and the tiny upwards angle wouldn’t be enough to suck the car to the ground like in reality. @KingHandspider
In section 1.2.1, it states: “The aerodynamic surfaces must be scaled 0.5 on all axes” scaled meaning the wing parts are 0.5 the size of the normal SP wing parts? (Sorry, I’m a mobile user so I can’t XML, plus my computer’s broken as of right now.) also: in section 1.2.1 as well, it says: “The inclination of each wing deck must be split evenly between the minimum and maximum amounts, i.e. (from bottom to top):
0.5°, 3°, 6°, 9°“ are these the minimums or maximums for the wing decks, or are these exactly the angle the wing decks should be? Thanks. @KingHandspider
@Delphinos I clicked 'show package contents', can i find that folder somewhere in there?
@DemonSniper8 alrighty, im not the driver either, and ill fix that with the HP. Ill try with the new wing.
+1@Delphinos nvm found it. How do I access the mod folder?
@Delphinos Hmm, strange. I cant open the version of SP I found in Finder.
@DemonSniper8 yeah, we're using a normal engine at 150 HP. I did 1:03 with no rear wing, what's your guy's time?
@Delphinos I typed this into finder and spotlight and found nothing. Where should I type this?
@DemonSniper8 nice!
we're working on increasing top speed, and reducing drag.
Good luck to you guys with the championship!
@RailfanEthan thought this said 'sweat beans' and I was really confused
+1@Delphinos what's a game directory? (Im kinda new to Steam sorry)
@Delphinos Now what? what is this 'Game Directory' you speak of?
@Awsomur Just found some and installed via steam
How's your guys' car coming?
@Delphinos oh deary! I'll do that then if I can find a spare 13 bucks.
@Delphinos so ill have to purchase it again through steam?
@KingHandspider I couldn't find the folder. I downloaded the application itself from the App Store on my computer, so i cant see the folders.
@KingHandspider okay, ill try that.
I just got my computer fixed so I can finally build on that instead of my crummy iPad mini!
How do you download this on Mac? I'm getting: "Could not find an application to open this"
There’s three races planned but only two tracks?
Alrighty! @KingHandspider
Ah. So it’s an assembly you’ll give us. @KingHandspider
Will Barge Boards be allowed for the car?
@KingHandspider
cries XD @KingHandspider
Common PRA? @KingHandspider
For the engine, will you provide an engine or will we use a stock one? @KingHandspider
That’s totally fine! @KingHandspider
When will the rear wing and suspension rules be finished? @KingHandspider
Alrighty. @KingHandspider
Hey @KingHandspider ! Any decision on the tail fin?
Alright, where can I find this? @KingHandspider
Alright. Thanks again for giving us this opportunity! @KingHandspider
Ahaha measuring the car is so hard. I had to make sticks with different colors to show the min and max length
Yes, the big ones. Also: the stability fin on top of the air box (the top inlet) are they allowed? @KingHandspider
@KingHandspider are the cars allowed to have tail fins (like the 2010 F1 cars?) ?

Alrighty! Thanks! @KingHandspider
How long does the approval process take for a new team?
Alrighty! Thanks! @KingHandspider

Will the cockpit be able to be covered by a canopy, or an open cockpit like the AndyCar? @KingHandspider
Alright! Thanks mate! @KingHandspider
Alright, sounds good. Any word on when the regs will be finished?@KingHandspider
Alright. That would make sense.

Alright! That makes it easier. (I love the AndyCar btw, it inspired me to start learning about vehicle aerodynamics) @KingHandspider

@marcox43 , I sent something through Discord for ya
Alrighty! Thanks! @KingHandspider
Amazing
Alrighty. Any word on what the max length, width, and height is for the car?
Thanks! @KingHandspider
