I was hoping people would utilize this torpedo in their builds! Just keep in mind that it is powered by a modded (reduced) VTOL engine that is clipped inside of the fuselage of the Swordfish. @PlanesOfOld
I can't seem to replicate the issue in the video https://www.kamcord.com/v/FABtAGEEiC2 I am sorry you are having it. What are your in-game physics settings set to?@shootster06
@AustinOwen Torpedo bombing is a very difficult maneuver and had a low success rate in real life. Its really important to lead your target. Aim for where the ship is going to be, not where it is now. Also, only release it when flying level or slightly tilted up and fly at a very low altitude (at least under 100 ft)
@XWING Its essentially the same fuselage with a different wing configuration. So you could simply just change the wings on this one and slap some new paint on it.
@Hypnoticchicken You're going to have to be a bit more specific. Messerschmidt was an aircraft manufacturing company. So when you just say Messerschmidt, I just assume you're talking about the Me 262 jet.
@Hypnoticchicken Hmm.. Did you try fudging with the in-game settings? Try lowering everything to medium. If that doesnt work, set the physics settings to low. The plane might disintegrate though... I havent flown it at low settings yet.
@Hypnoticchicken What generation ipad are you running? It works fine on my ipad mini gen 1 at the maximum settings. And Ive built an Me 262, it was my very first plane uploaded actually. So I guess its due for a revisit
Its one of my favorites too! If you do want to build one more, try the F-16XL. Take a look at mine, but if you do build one, may I suggest the black and yellow NASA paint job.
@Rohan Those would be bouncing bombs or colloquially dubbed "bowling bombs". Im not sure if the Swordfish ever used them. But this one is outfitted with a torpedo that smoothly propels through the water in a straight line. In real life they are neutrally buoyant and "swim" just a few feet under the surface of the water. In this game, I have it just skim across the surface.
@Eric314 Yeah I am aware I went over the actual top speed by *cough* 80MPH *cough* errr... hahah. But I was left with no choice as its stall speed is near 105-115 MPH and it really bleeds airspeed when performing turns and loops. So to avoid stalls, I had to give her some extra pep in her step!!!
@Authros thanks man! Means a lot coming from you, you were my inspiration to try my hand at this xml modding thing and I consider you the best at it!!. I am still amazed how you work the wing pieces to make seamless sections on your boats. I clearly have a lot more to learn!
@Geebers thanks my man! I got the Bismarck in the dry dock under construction already! In the mean time practice your torpedo runs in the Swordfish so you're battle ready when she is launched to sea!!!!
@Vikdesigns Canons would be awesome! Frankly, I would like to see more potential targets. Something like battleships in the water or a small rudimentary town in the valley to the left of the runway. Maybe someone with modding skills can get into the games programming and mod some basic houses into the map.
This is so cool! Leave it to the russians, eh? If you dont mind, I can take a crack at it and improve its flight characteristics, maybe give it larger propellers? Ill reupload it and then delete it as soon as you download it so you can upload it again.
Thanks @Vikdesigns ! I took hours to get it properly balanced, powered, and travel in a straight line. Only complaint I have is that it's explosion is too small!!!
Ya got my word I won't attempt those boats. It may be on the small side but it's correctly scaled. When I do my replicas I measure blueprints and establish block to centimeter ratios (I try to keep the rounding to a minimum) @PlanesOfOld
@XWING Believe it or not but the 'feel' of the plane just occurred as I pieced it together. I think because the CoL is higher than the CoM and CoT it has that lofty feel when flying. I was debating wether or not to put more vertical stabilization on it to get rid of the slight fish tailing, but I kinda like it on this one. Anyway thanks for giving her a go!!
@Shootster06 watch your airspeed, you're more than likely stalling out. This is among my top performing aircraft and I can't replicate what is happening to you unless it's going too slow. Sounds like pilot error; not the craft. Can you be more specific?
@JMicah4 @JMicah4 Yes this is my entry into the modded world. All mods are purely cosmetic except for the torpedo (I just hid the VTOL nozzels inside it and decreased the VTOL engine to 8% of its power).
@WeeBabySeamus Thanks for giving her a go! Pierce will always be James Bond for me. He was the one I grew up on! But the inspiration for this boat came from an old Sega Genesis game I played when I was a kid. I think it was called Urban Strike, if I remember right.
Did I get the paint and stripes correct? I know there's should be strips in the fuselage but I couldn't make it look all that great. @Hunter77

I really don't know what it could be, post a kamcord video so I can get a better idea of what's happening @shootster06
I've attempted it before but it got the best of me. But now that I am dabbling in modded builds, I'll try it again! @AlphaOneIndustries
I can't seem to replicate the issue in the video https://www.kamcord.com/v/FABtAGEEiC2 I am sorry you are having it. What are your in-game physics settings set to?@shootster06
So cool!
I really appreciate that! @AlphaOneIndustries it is pretty fun trying to torpedo the aircraft carries, huh?
The engine that powers the torpedo is on the plane. It gets air from the intakes I stashed under the bottom set of wings. @Awsomeoley476

@Hypnoticchicken oooooooooh... Funny how three little numbers make a difference. Sure thing, I'll add that to my list!
@XWING Its essentially the same fuselage with a different wing configuration. So you could simply just change the wings on this one and slap some new paint on it.
@Hypnoticchicken Not a bother at all, my man!! I am more than happy to help with any issue.

@AlphaOneIndustries Sure thing! I love me my bombers, especially experimental German craft!

Thanks @legomore and @babybumper1995!!
@bjac0 Thanks man! I uploaded your flying tank. let me know when you got it
@shootster06 Hmm... Even at max power make sure your speed doesnt fall below 200 MPH. What are your physics settings set to?
@Geebers thanks my man! I got the Bismarck in the dry dock under construction already! In the mean time practice your torpedo runs in the Swordfish so you're battle ready when she is launched to sea!!!!
Thanks for your reviews @Eric314 @AlphaOneIndustries @Viper28 @Hypnotoad @Forwind @AndrewGarrison @WeeBabySeamus @JacobHardy64

That is the most bizarre plane I've ever seen @Notapier . Hell yeah I'll make it!
This is just an all around weird looking airplane, and you nailed it! Way cool!
Ooooo that'd be cool. @karlosdarkness
Ya got my word I won't attempt those boats. It may be on the small side but it's correctly scaled. When I do my replicas I measure blueprints and establish block to centimeter ratios (I try to keep the rounding to a minimum) @PlanesOfOld
Yeah I'm making a variant with rockets and floats. @karlosdarkness
In production now! @planelover400
@XWING Believe it or not but the 'feel' of the plane just occurred as I pieced it together. I think because the CoL is higher than the CoM and CoT it has that lofty feel when flying. Fantastic! It's not that large of a plane at all so I was wondering why it wouldn't work lol. @karlosdarkness
@planelover400 @ZMF99 thanks fellas, I appreciate it!
@karlosdarkness that's a shame it doesn't work for you. What device are you running?
@teus yes they're modded nose cones (4 separate ones) nested in each other. Same for the ones on the upper wings. Thanks for the review!
@Shootster06 watch your airspeed, you're more than likely stalling out. This is among my top performing aircraft and I can't replicate what is happening to you unless it's going too slow. Sounds like pilot error; not the craft. Can you be more specific?
Haha awesome! I totally forgot about the recording feature (I've never used it). @bjac0
@Vikdesigns @planesnthings thanks for the rates. Let me know which one masters the torpedo first!
@bjac0, thanks man. She took a lot of time. Did you score a hit on the Tiny with the torpedo yet??
The aircraft itself is powered by unmodded small engines. @JMicah4
@JMicah4 @JMicah4 Yes this is my entry into the modded world. All mods are purely cosmetic except for the torpedo (I just hid the VTOL nozzels inside it and decreased the VTOL engine to 8% of its power).
@hunter77 here she is. I hope I did good by your grandfather.
Just a preemptive rating there @JMicah4? Lol you're quick on the guns!
@Eric314 Its going to be quite some time till shes finished. But it will be amazing.
@Jettison, oh cool, I'll have to look that documentary up! Its a shamed that she was ultimately auctioned off for scrap.
@WeeBabySeamus Thanks for giving her a go! Pierce will always be James Bond for me. He was the one I grew up on! But the inspiration for this boat came from an old Sega Genesis game I played when I was a kid. I think it was called Urban Strike, if I remember right.
