@F104Deathtrap I found them useful so you don't have to click a button, pull a slider down, and reclick the button. Its good for tailhooks or extending parts or really whatever.
@F104Deathtrap I saw that the page didn't include inputs like Activate1 - Activate8 so I added them. It allows for toggleable controls. I use them a lot in my builds.
I think I'll go for a combined Jet/Propeller bomber. Maybe a miniture B-36 Peacemaker. @SkrillerPlays is there a limit of how many entries per person and what kind of weapons I can use like missiles?
This is such a good design for just 100 parts! You really captured the smooth design of the SU-35. Something I do in my builds that you can do here is use the resizable intake blocks in the cockpit as you can use the trim on them as those rungs around the canopy. it adds that extra bit of detail while keeping the same part count.
@TheNotNewGuy No I disabled collisions. I think it had something to do with the suspension as I had to max it out further than the game normally allows.
@BroAeronautics I do plan on making this into a Super Hornet at some point but I've always perfered single seat fighters. I could always extend the canopy backwards into the two seat versions. Correct me if I'm wrong but between the F-18C and F-18D, is there no difference in shape/size besides the longer canopy for the extra seat?
@Razor3278 I'll definitely tag him once I complete the Blue Angel. Right now I got the yellow accents and a number "6" on the tail fins. Im debating whether or not I should add the big "US NAVY" font on the underwings as it won't be able to mirror and I hate not having things aligned right. Any other fonts will just be too small and I'm not that patient.
@RailfanEthan I've been playing around with simple-izing my Hornet desing down to exactly 100 parts with six wings and it spawns! I think those two things might be the key factor but I'm curious if there's a max weight factor too.
@Tully2001 I think it might be random to an extent as even with a default plane library, creations like the Wasp, Hellkeska, Little Bugger, Kicking Fish, and a few others would never spawn. I'm guessing one of the requirements is that it has some sort of aircraft engine, pitch/yaw/roll controls, and again that seven wing limit.
@BroAeronautics Thats somewhere next on my list. I'm not sure if I should build it off this one or start brand new. Right now I'm making a Blue Angels varient and I'm new to detailing planes so theres that. @Razor3278 Thanks for the link I now have a working smoke trail.
@plane918273645 Something I recomend doing is reversing the direction of the right propeller as in real life I think that might cause some unwanted roll action. Other than that, This plane is amazing! It's like some some nation isn't able to buy modern aircraft so instead they take old ones and add all the new gizmos like flares and fancy missiles.
I was very suprised by the ammount of guns you managed to pack into this thing. I think I was close to taking out the USS Tiny using only guns. I crashed on the deck then into the water but thank goodness for buoyancy!
You know, theres ships like this in Star Wars called "Uglies" where they mix and match parts to starfighters and some of them are quite ugly. I think they're mostly used by pirates and places that can't afford whole ships.
@Vayloz Thanks for the tip! I'm working on an updated version that already has a custom nose landing gear with launch bar, extending air refueling probe, and more accurate rudder shape.
@noobs Are you playing on mobile? I play on PC and have high physics settings.. it may have something to do with that as when I go in slow motion mode the wheels pop through for whatever reason.
@newb You really want that F-22 don't you? I'm still working out how the doors will work and how to make it actually line up correctly and keep it's shape. So far a lot of other Raptor's I've seen are built hollow and I've never done that yet.
I made a SNECMA Coleoptere a long time ago which was a US jet similar to this built in 1959. When I built it, I don't think gyroscopes were in the game so I definitely need to add one. It's nice to see you got one of these weird aircraft to fly well.
@koryg Really? The only similarity between the Hellkeska and the F-14 I see is the variable wing sweep. The F-14 has a much larger gap between the engines and has two vertical stabilizers as well as a much different intake design.
@Mustang51 I always assumed it was a Tornado though now that mention it I do think it could be a SU-24. It doesn't look a whole lot like an Aardvark though. I guess it's a mystery.
@Mustang51 You're welcome. Oh and fun tip, On the Hinge Rotator and Small Rotator blocks you can go to the "Joint Rotator" tab and add a function "disableBaseMesh" and set it to "true". Most of the settings are case sensitive. You can also change the input to "landingGear" though you may need to set either the "min" or the "max" to 0. Theres a lot to learn from the mod so I recomend finding good Modded planes and disecting them.
Well I only play this game on PC so I'm not sure how it works on Mac or Mobile versions. I subscribed to the Overload Mod from the Steam Workshop but it's also on the Simpleplanes mod page: https://www.simpleplanes.com/Mods/View/524146/Overload
@Mustang51 I recomend getting the Overload Mod. Theres not really a whole lot you can do wrong with it and once you get used to it you can tweak your builds much better wether it be making the small parts smaller to fit better or changing the CoM without adding extra weight. I even found a way to attach wing guns to spots they normally wouldn't be able to.
@BigDoggo They're the "Small Rotator" block. I used the Overload Mod to "disableBaseMesh" and get rid of that boxy vented part. I also scaled them down a bit to look nicer.
Note: Do not fire in slow motion.. Things that shouldn't go boom go boom.
@F104Deathtrap It's not that tricky to adjust. You may need to set the min or the max value to 0 though
+1@F104Deathtrap I found them useful so you don't have to click a button, pull a slider down, and reclick the button. Its good for tailhooks or extending parts or really whatever.
+1@F104Deathtrap I saw that the page didn't include inputs like Activate1 - Activate8 so I added them. It allows for toggleable controls. I use them a lot in my builds.
@Mostly is right. It should be "fireGuns" or "FireGuns". Thanks @F104Deathtrap for the link by the way I'm saving that for sure!
+3I like the detail you got in while keeping it under 200 parts. Nice work!
If you have the Overload mod, you can set the input of the landing light to "-LandingGear" so when the gears are down, the light is on
Beautiful! I love all the detailing and I'm glad you liked my rotary bomb system.
This would look really good as a large sci-fi Capital Ship or Carrier. It reminds me of the UNSC Spirit of Fire... I should play more Space Engineers.
+1This makes an excellent dogfighter. You should call it the Killer Starfish.
+1@CRJ900Pilot I feel honored :)
@MailboxIsMyGender Why? I thought High School pacer tests were behind me.
I think I'll go for a combined Jet/Propeller bomber. Maybe a miniture B-36 Peacemaker. @SkrillerPlays is there a limit of how many entries per person and what kind of weapons I can use like missiles?

@TheNotNewGuy Thanks! It took a while to get the nose gear to not explode on takeoff/landing.

@Razor3278 Sure! I'll tag you and EliteArsenals4 somewhere in the description.
Is that a Thumb-thumb from spy kids?

@trolman Have you been playing Sea of Thieves?

I don't know if I would call this WWII with that loadout but those weapons work great! I love how the missiles are angled as they fire.
I was very suprised by the ammount of guns you managed to pack into this thing. I think I was close to taking out the USS Tiny using only guns. I crashed on the deck then into the water but thank goodness for buoyancy!
Nice job! I really like the fact that there's three engines as that's not something you see very often.
Now to get a WWII plane and start a dogfight. Nice work!
@Vayloz I made an updated version:

+1@Mustang51 Nice. Can't wait to see what comes out! also sorry for turning this aircraft's comment section into a conversation thread.
@Mustang51 all my recent aircraft use it so if you've been able to fly any of them from the past 3-ish months that means it works!
Very realistic! It breaks nearly every time it impacts the ground. Maybe the velocity has something to do with it though.
+1@noahlizard7 I'd say use the transform tool to nudge connected parts into the aircraft

Really puts into perspective how small all my creations are. Nice work!
@newb I've always wanted to build one though it will take a while as I want it to be perfect. I might make one by 2019.
+1@koryg Really? The only similarity between the Hellkeska and the F-14 I see is the variable wing sweep. The F-14 has a much larger gap between the engines and has two vertical stabilizers as well as a much different intake design.

@mikoyanster I'm all for getting more points but ultimately you're the judge for this competition.
@Mustang51 I used to do that too. I had a ton of parts in my sub assembly list. I find the mod makes things easier.
