man, I finally got to play this, and it is perfect. I modeled the in game ones based off this ship, but a very small and dumbed down version to match the old carrier made before I got on the team. After looking at reference images for this for hours, I can testify that this is as good as it gets!
Just a small rotator for turning connected to a hinge rotator, but the key is the disabled mesh fuselage parts which are XML modded. Feel free to use them, you can make them a sub assembly and do what you will with them, just make sure to duplicate them when you build with them. Matter of fact, all the parts on the front gear have thier colliders disabled, which makes them go inside other blocks. @ChiChiWerx
Thanks comrade, I got it pretty close, but not perfect. Could be longer, and the wings are pushing super hornet size. Also, the leaning on braking is due to the friction on the front landing gear. I set them high so it could stop on the carriers the best I could make it, so if you you change the friction settings on the wheels to auto it will fix that. also the brake torque is doubled on the front wheels. Funny you should say did I get help from Boeing, because 3 of the other four Jundroo crew are ex employees of Boeing, but they had no idea I was working on it on the side. @Brields95
Glad you got so much enjoyment out of it! It's always nice to hear from a fellow builder of your caliber. Keep up the good work sir. @aircraftarsenal123
@Ragebus hopefully, its on the list! I was trying to make a cable system using the parts, would love to see someone make one that sorta worked with this.
@EternalDarkness they definitely tried their best to get the sand map running on the best devices, including iPads, and still it crashed and lagged out. That map wasn't built like the other 3, and was really a test of what was possible for pushing the boundaries for PC. We could build a sand based map in the near future, but I know we had to move on to bigger and better things, which will be way better than a simpleplanes update :)
@EternalDarkness I play a lot on my iPhone 5C still. That's where I started out, and usually do most of my flying when winding down for the night, or featuring builds. I pushed for the locking feature when moving blocks on mobile, and did my best to make sure that the new island could be mobile friendly when designing it. It is hard to not be a PC elitist, but I cant forget what got me here and where I started. We really try to make it the best for all platforms, and I now enjoy making builds that challenge me in designing my builds to utilize the functionality of mobile platforms for everyone to enjoy.
@Wildblueyonder578 Good point, guess I should change it to McDonnell Douglas. Funny thing is my dad worked there, its the reason why I live in Missouri, but I'm so used to calling in Boeing now that I forgot it was McDonnell Douglas.
@EternalDarkness thanks old chap,it was definitely a tough build. What really helped capturing the essence of the jet was an hour long documentary that really helped understand what makes the F-18 the great fighter that it is. Video
Glad you flew it. minus the annoying roll, that's where I get the most enjoyment from builds. The real charm is in the flight characteristics. @MrSilverWolf
Honestly, I rebuilt this 4 separate times. Each time it turned out better(check out the predecessor). So just take something you've built, and fly it till something bugs you, and then make it better with wizardry and heavy metal :). @MechWARRIOR57
It's fun how the builds just keep evolving. For me, others great works keep inspiring me to make bigger and better things. Authros was the biggest inspiration for the flaps, and theAlban really inspired me to lock down the body shape and realism, but the biggest factor for this f-18 was Hellfirekoders scale and rotation tool. That dude changed the game for customization efficiency@SHCow
@RMark1 lol,have to keep them simple for stock planes. They have to be a guideline to how to build planes. This one would just frustrate people, its a very glitchy/delicate balance(hence the roll to the right that I gave up on)
Sorry for all the comments that didn't check their facts before they pointed fingers. I made sure to check out the original before I featured it. Love what you guys are doing. I couldn't stop flying it!! Can't wait for more!@REW
This is so amazing. So good, that I just bought a hot wheel replica off amazon because this reminded me of my childhood, and I loved this car.
@Rohan I didnt work there , the others did.
Not the best idea to have any trademarked/copyrighted planes being stock planes. @metalsaurus
seriously, this is perfect.
new favorite Airliner!
Not for this game...@Jettison
I got one more project that I'm working on with Wakescar, a ground vehicle, and then maybe another shot at the F-15. @metalsaurus
Thanks to your play testing and words of encouragement! I mean, it's no Kia Sorento. @WalrusAircraft

+4@metalsaurus there is no getting better than this A-10

Well, they are both F-18 hornets, so they will be similar. Good job on yours too. @Thomasj041

WOW, this is beautiful.

@Geebers agreed, the movie was entertaining, but the soundtrack was amazing. Yeah, John is the original OG.

@Cedy117 the roll issue will be looked into now.

@BobTheTitanSP me too, I was shocked it was under 300. Glad you enjoyed flying it!
@Geebers love that soundtrack! How epic. I got Andrew hooked on the interstellar soundtrack, gotta love Hans.
@traindude48 yup, or lack for a better word.
Lol, yeah, it was best I could do within my limits for the game at the time. @MrSilverWolf
Thanks bruh.@bjac0
Then all you need is time now. @MechWARRIOR57

@SHCow sadly, yes.
@Johndfg glad you like it!
@MikuKat lol, I'm honored.
@DALS2016Killshot86 thanks amigo!

@BaconEggs I didn't see you post yours, if I had I would have waited a bit. That always seems to happen.
@Wakescar very nice find!
Indeed,crazy how limited the game was, and that was a game changer. @WalrusAircraft
Really love what you did with the body lines from the original. Gave it that hyperloop style, and I dig it.
Sorry for all the comments that didn't check their facts before they pointed fingers. I made sure to check out the original before I featured it. Love what you guys are doing. I couldn't stop flying it!! Can't wait for more!@REW
@Infiniteflightplayr lol, very dated design. crazy where the game has come from.
@Infiniteflightplayr read below.....
@PENG Believe in the original builder, the link is in the description to this build Pitchfork Neutralizer
@AeroMobilFlyingCar check out the original........
So epic and amazing.
This just blew my mind. SO amazing!!!!!!
+1Man, I love your stuff, and Pink Floyd.
