I was curious how epidemiologists create models to make predictions about COVID-19, so I spent the past couple of weeks researching and I ended up writing a simple sim game that puts you in control of the nation's response to a pandemic. It's just a free web game. How many lives can you save? You can play it here.
You can use social distancing and lockdowns to control the spread and deploy resources to hospitals that are overwhelmed. Be careful, as people don't like being told what to do and you only have so many resources to deploy.
This isn't trying to predict COVID-19, this is just a very simple model of a fictional virus, but it includes an editor so you can customize your own virus if you don't like mine.
Playing this in 2024 and it's still fun

@AndrewGarrison Is there a way to "produce" beds? I always have the same amount of beds that i can give the states.
Every single time I play this, and civil disobedience maxes out, I execute them with the virus, I let them suffer, to the virus that isn't real.
