Hello, Im Universegaming And This Is Some "Rough Guide" On How To Drift Tune Your Car
Here's How, Every Car Is Different And Every Driver Is Different Too
As Miho Says In GuP: Every Tank Is Different And Their Driver Can Make Difference As Well
First Off, You Might Wanna Look My Talladega Drift Truck Since Its One Of My Most Configurable Car, You Can Either Drift With AWD Or RWD
For An RWD Car Drifting Is A Bit Difficult Since You Need To Find A Perfect Balance Of Grip, A Little Bit Too Much Grip Your Car Wont Drift Or Struggling To Drift, Too Little Grip Your Car Can Be Uncontrollable
Here's The Thing That Might Matter For Drifting:
•Downforce
•Weight
•Suspension
•Wheelbase
•Tire Width
•Grip
•Tire Size
•Aerodynamic
•Track
•Camber
That Is Some Of The Things That Might Matter Or Did Matter When Drifting In Simpleplanes
First Off:
Downforce
Downforce Is Essential For Keeping Your Car Keep On Contact With The Tarmac Because, You Can't Expect To Drift With A Car That Basically Just Making Air Cushion With Their Car Even Though Its Not Possible
You Need To Keep Balance For The Amount Of Downforce You Need, Too Much Downforce And Your Car Might Bottom Out, Too Little Downforce And Your Car Might Start To Do Body Roll
Body Roll Is One Of The Most Biggest Enemy For Cars In Simpleplanes, I Know Takicraft Might Already Roll Some Car On Testing Process Because You Can't Expect A Car To Perform Good With Dumb Luck, Even A Dragster In Simpleplanes Need Adjustment Because It Still Need To Right Itself And Keeping Itself On The Track Or It Might Fly Off Into The Sky
Try Adding Atleast 1-7 Degrees Of Wing Deflection, Even A Little Can Make Difference, For Example: 3° In Front, 5° In Back, Now One Note From Me Before You "Rice" Your Car, Never, Never, Ever Make A Working Double Element Wing, Double Element Wing In SP Were Creating Soo Much Downforce That The Car Suspension Might Bottom Out, I Have Tried It With My Car, Real Life Physics Apply Here Too, Wing Creates Drag, And Drag Is Not A Good Thing, For Cars Because It Slows You Down, Try To Reduce As Much Drag From Your Wing And Find Your Own Optimal Setting For Your Wing, One Thing Can Changes Everything Ok
Moving On To Second
Camber:
Now You Might Think "Mate, Camber Is Not Working In This Game" But No, Camber Do Affect Cars, They Make Less Contact If Its Too Much, They Make Perfect Contact If Its Perfectly Set, The Ideal Camber In Game Is Probably About 1-3 Degrees As If You Go To 5 Degrees You Will Need To Change To Normal Type Wheel Opposed To Using Street Type
You Might Even Screwed Off By Finding The Perfect Balance...
Moving On To Third
Suspension:
(Not Suspension Part)
Suspension Can Sometimes Be An Important Thing, Just Don't Touch Damper, It Wont Affect That Much
For Normal Driving You Might Use [170%/150%] [Rear/Front] Suspension
For Racing You Might Want Something A Bit More Stiff, You Might Use [230%/190%] [Rear/Front]
For Drifting There's Two Choice, When Drifting IRL You Got Two Types Of Suspension, Stiff And Loose, Stiff Mean Soft Suspension, Loose Mean Hard Suspension, Now I Know If You're Not A Car Guy You Will Be Confused, But IRL Drift Suspension Works That Way
(Watch Donut Media|Bumper To Bumper At FD Nissan Silvia S14.5 At Youtube For The Suspension Explanation)
Moving On To Fourth
Tracks:
You Might Say
"Well There's Only One Track That You Can Use"
No, This Is Not True Since You Can Make The Track Itself
Gold Prix And Gold Prix Reversed Are The One That Might Be The Default Since It's Already A Track Layed Out By The Devs
But Do You Know How To Use Yeager Airport As A Drift Track?
3....
2...
1..
Did You Find Out About What Im Talking About?
Here's The Answer:
Spawn In Yeager Airport - Go Forward A Little Bit - Now Go The Opposite Way - Make An S Track Out Of It, If You Can Show Me The Picture Of How To Make It Based On My Clue I Will See It If Its The Right Layout Or Not, The Track Were Important
In Skypark GP Raceway The Track Is A Fairly Wide Track With If Im Right 7 Turns Or Chicanes, After Turn-2 There's This Boring Turning Stretch Right? You Can Slalom Your Way In This Stretch If Your Car Can
And Then This Is The Main Part Of The Drift, The Notorious Three Consecutive Turns, It's Very Easy Indeed To Make A Mistake In This Part, Since The Car Need To Turn Quickly In Order To Get Into The Second Or Third Chicane The Flick Of The Car Might Get You Spinning Out Of Control If You Can't Controlled It
But On The Right Hand Of A Drifter Like Me It Can Be Done Quite Easily, The Fact That GP Raceway Track Have This Shallow Bump Can Make Your Drift Ruined Or Even Ends Up In Failure
Moving On To Fifth
Grip:
Now When We Talking About Grip We Usually Talk About Tire As Well, The Tire Width And Size Can Make A Difference In Control, The Biggest Wheel Can Travel A Lot More Per Roll But Heavy, Small Wheel Can Only Travel A Small Area Per Roll But Can Make Your Car Travel Faster
Since Im Using Overload I Always Change My "Velocity..." Sumthin Like That To 100 Or 150, Usually For 100 It Will Make Your Car Only Goes 240Km/h Which Kinda Work As A Speed Limiter, This Is Why My Car Only Goes Around 150-250Km/h
Back To Grip
For Grip It Depend On Your Car Weight, Stability, Downforce And Aerodynamic, If Your Car Front Heavy Or Heavy In General (2500+Kg) Like My Talladega Drift Truck You Might Want To Adjust That, For A Car Like Takswagen Akina Mk1 You Might Want To Use 90%/110% (Forward/Sideways) For The Back Or Front If It Didn't Work, And 100%/90% (Forward/Sideways) For The Front
If You Check The Talladega Its An Exception, I Don't Know Why The Car Wont Drift At That Grip Setting, That's Why In The Talladega I Use 50%/50% (Forward/Sideways) In Back, 60%/70% (Forward/Sideways) In Front (If I Remember Correctly)
Moving On To Sixth
Wheelbase:
There's Some Good Drift Car That Have A Stock Body And There's Some Good Drift Car That Have A Widebody Kit, There's Drift Car That Have A Long Wheelbase, There's Drift Car That Have A Short Wheelbase
For Long Wheelbase Car You Can Swing Your Back End More Since It's Long, But This Mean That You Can't Drift Tightly
For Shorter Wheelbase Car You Can Drift More Tightly Because Your Car Is Nimble, This Is Why You See A Lot Of Rallycross Car That Use Compact Car Like Veloster, Golf, Focus, Fiesta Etc², This Car That I Listed Have A Short Wheelbase That Can Help Them Turn Quickly Because A Lot Of Rallycross Track Have A Very Tight Turn That Some Normal Long Wheelbase Car Can't Do, If A Car Have A Long Wheelbase At Tight Turn The Car Need To Slide A Lot That Will Kill So Much Speed
This Is Why If You Want To Drift Tightly With Long Wheelbase Car You Need To Slide More Or Even Reverse Entry The Corner In Order To Turn Quickly, Or You Can Just Do Irohazaka Jump If There's One In Game
If The Drift Track You Use Only Have A Normal Turn You Might Want To Use A More Longer Wheelbase Because You Can Drift A Slight Corner More Easily, And When You Encounter A 90° Drift This Is The Fun Part, The Car Will Slide Soo Good If You Just Found The Correct Setting
Onto The Last One
Aerodynamic:
Might Not Affect Too Much But This Is Just An Essential Part, You Might Want A Sleek Looking Car So When You Put Bodykit On It It Will Look Cool And Bad Ass (FT/GT-86 Have A Crazy Bodykit) The Mighty Wing Might Help You Maintain Stability When Drifting Too If You Into It Enough
That's It For Today, I Type This For Almost 3 Hour So This Might Be One Of The Longest Typing I Ever Do (Not Including Wattpad Stories) If There's Something Wrong That You Wanna Correct Feel Free To Correct Me
Ok Then, This Is Universegaming
See You Guys Next Time
I effectively rendered this tutorial obsolete
I think trucks would work quite well especially since it doesn't have that full interior of seating
@Jerba i have tried making a bus drift, and it exactly have 3 axles (1 front, 2 rear) but it doesn't work anymore, it was a request from Randomusername to make my bus drift, if you know the Beam.NG Doriftobus video then i pretty much make it quite the same
Is it possible to make a 3 wheeler truck drift? (2 wheels on front like normal, 4 in back) Would I make the middle wheels turn, or have slight turn?
@Sinacraft Play FR Legend Too, Its Drifting Game As Well
@TrislandianAlliance i playing torque drift...its coolest drifting game.
@Sinacraft That Stallion Is Too Much, *Dump Mustang
Come Here Civic
I crashed with my mustang in gold prix...R.I.P
@Gameboi14 Oh You Read It And Studying It Too Apparently, I Can Read This In Just 5-10 Minutes (If Im Right I Can Read About 475 Word Per Minute)
"Turn left to turn right!"
This took me a full hour to read this
@TrislandianAlliance And Understeery
I Know Im Bouncing In My Talladega Truck But Its Still Controllable, I Have A Car That I Will Upload Later That Use The Suspension Parts
@BACconcordepilot But With A Suspension Part It Need A Stiffer Suspension And Then You Need To Make Moving Parts With It, Even When Im Only Putting Suspension-Fuselage-Wheel It Still Hard
@Botfinder I Mean Ship Is Technically Drifting When Turning, It Works Like Yaw In Aircraft
Put The Grip At 50%/50%
The Round³ Machine
Or... you could just turn your wheels and hope for the best.
deja vu intensifies
@Strikefighter04 Just Drift It, Do Irohazaka Jump, Loose Propeller On Yhe Process...
Lol I mean on the ground too @TrislandianAlliance
@TrislandianAlliance happy late bday, mane
This Is My First Ever Forum Post Too, I Type It In My Birthday Which Is Yesterday...
Maybe, Doing Airdrift In SP Is Very² Hard
I drift in my Stuka, does that count?
