I wonder if anyone has ever thought of building hecking NUKES With the cannon part. Well...you can! Since Overload is now part of the game, you can set the caliber of a cannon to be as high as you want. Not only that, scaling the cannon down will not change the size of the shells! Here's a step by step process in building nukes.

WARNING: These kinds of custom explosives may cause lag, freezing, and even crashes on your device. As a general rule, keep the camera as far away from the explosion as possible to reduce lag.

- Step 1: Bring out a Cannon Weapon

  • Step 2: Select it and enter the overload menu
  • Step 3: Go to the 'cannon' section of the menu and find the 'diameter' option. Set a big number of your choice.
  • Step 4: Go to the 'projectileLifetime' option and set it to 0 (for an instant detonation on command)

  • Step 5: Go to the 'scale' option in the 'part' section of the overload menu scale it down till the cannon fits in your bomb/missile. Reducing the barrel and gun length is also recommended to help it fit. You should also set mass to 0 so it doesn't way several tons.

And there you have it! You have an explosive that will detonate on command.

If you apply it to a missile/bomb which deploys off your build it I recommend...

  • For weapons such as rockets and bombs, use the trick for making custom missiles. Put your weapon onto the bottom of the detatcher, and connect a small fuselage piece to the back of it. Put your cannon on that fuselage.

  • Taking an XML modded Winch (setting speed and range ultra high) set it to 'Activate 8' set invert to 'no'. Add the cable to your craft near where the weapon is, make sure the back of the winch is connected to your launch platform.

  • Use the new connection settings to connect the winch's cable to the attached fuselage of your weapon. For things akin to my ballistic missiles, which use no weapon as a base and essentially function like a detatcher-deployed plane, simply attach the cannon and cable of the Winch to a part of that weapon.

If you put the weapon together right (and I explained well enough) your nuclear weapon should be capable of being deployed, allowing you to select the cannon part and manually detonate the explosive.

Note that the winch allows the cannon weapon to be selected even on a weapon/part of your build that's been deployed since the game regards that weapon as 'still connected'. This trick can also be great for other applications of deployable weapons, such as armed and unmanned drones that can be deployed from a mothership. Now those drones can have weapons!

I put this together rather quickly and excitedly, I'll edit as needed.

    It's simple. Just xml mod the explosion scale from 200 to 2000 and up (u can customise how u want the explosion to be big) but prepare for lag spikes/ huge frame drop and game crash (im not responsible for that) so any issues will be ur responsibility

    @CruzerBlade With this weapon I didn't, just wiped them out in one shot. However with a similar weapon using oversized cannon shells I managed to make the ships of both the beast and sky park navy go full Deja Vu! Speeding off at supersonic speeds, doing high speed donuts, even flying!

    @Imashovel I think someone's already done that (forget who and in what build). I could also use cannons to replace the 'bombs on pistons' mechanism in my torpedoes. All the power of the bombs without the risk of losing them to the depths!
