so... I'm trying to build a homing-gliding bomb. what is it?
well, it's a gliding bomb with the lift coeficient of a glider (can glide up to 175km) and has an active homing device and navigation system, meaning it can self control it's control surfaces (Yaw and Pitch) to guide itself to the nearest radar signal that it can find. Meaning it's Fire&Forget.
the bomb in question is a BV-246, of which over 1000 where built an only 10 were upgraded with the homing system.
This is the bomb http://www.luft46.com/missile/bv246.html
and the SP file http://www.simpleplanes.com/a/3z43wa/BV-246-Hagelkorn
My main problem is not the gliding part, but the homing system itself, it seems like the missile cannot maneuver the gliding bomb and thus it goes it of control without any specific direction. so if someone could fix the homing system it would be awesome.
@edensk will try that later...
@marcox43 Reduce the missile's mass until it more or less looks like it glides
@edensk u.u... then, what about the gliding part?
@marcox43 yes, the missile guidance system won't work
@edensk is that an issue in the design?
You're using wings.
