The new update adds some funky trees expressions that link the angle and distance of a selected target. I believe i might be able to put some of this together to make a battle droid that can seek out a ground target and destroy it, maybe i’ll make a AI flight module for aircraft too to use with carriers and other things.
Will this be possible?

yes
@F104Deathtrap It has a function on the PID of predicting so I will try to use that. Its very hard to create an equation for the lead so this will really only be applicable to CIWS for the time being.
@ChrisPy Yes, I understand you can create a controller that will point you towards the target. But can you instead create a controller that points you where the target is going?
@F104Deathtrap I working on it with a PID controller Im pretty close. Headin g is difficult but I got elevation locked in.

@ChrisPy That could be fixed with a detacher gun because you can use the activation group as an input so it would fire a bomb attached to the detacher when it is aimed at the target
The big issue is leading a moving target. It sounds like WNP conflated target bearing (the angle the target is from you) with target heading (the direction the target is moving). We will need both of those in order to calculate a firing solution for most guns at most ranges unless the plan is to just close in to an absurdly close range.
@ChrisPy Just slap a camera on it and hit the trigger when it's within range.
Probably not since you would need to cue an AI to shoot. If you aren’t on it’s crosshairs it won’t fire. If we could change the input of firing the gun we could do it with the TargetDistance<5 or whatever
I hope it's possible. I'll definitely be giving it a try.
