New function maybe? (Future update discussion)

10.1k Sparky6004  4.2 years ago

So, since we all seem to love the new FT function to target automatically, since a high majority of people seem to be making ships with them, it would only be more fun to target ordinance. (Missiles, Bombs, Rockets, cannon shells)

Oh, also. New missile systems. I mean like working Missile guidance, heat seeking functions (so flares can be realistically used, and not just to be OP.) Radar part, and Radar function for missiles.
Most of the functions could be changed through XML or default menu.

Thoughts?

    The radar should have all three functions : Air-to-Air, Air-to-Ground and both at the same time.
    Also three types of radar :
    - Radar telemeter, such as those mounted on the F-100 or Super-Mystère ;
    - Rotating radar, like the ones mounted on war ships, anti-air tanks and patrol planes like the Bréguet Alizé ;
    - Actual plane radar, whose antenna oscillates, with multiple shapes we can choose from :
    - Concave antenna, like on the Vautour IIN's radar ;
    - Flat antenna, like on the Mirage 2000 RDI or the F-14 ;
    - "truncated cone" like the Mirage III's Cyrano radar ;
    - ...

    (I might edit the message to add more things I was thinking about)

    Yeah, I meant a seeker part that can be linked to wings and can guide itself to a locked target by manipulating the linked wings’ control surfaces @47parzival41 @WolfSpark

    @47parivial41 Well that’s not what he meant, he meant more in detail Weapon functions. Not just names.

    What I want is a part that can link to wings, (much like how a car engine links to wheels), that is in the weapon menu, and it uses the wings to guide to a target, that way we can make guided bombs that actually have realistic inertia and not just slow down midair
    Also, this part should have regular options including how long it’s in a ballistic fall before it starts guiding, the accuracy in meters (because not all guided bombs are equally accurate) and obviously a name change so we can change it’s name from “———“ to “———“

    @WarHawk95 XD, i seen that before, 2 Libyan Fitter shot down by 2 F-14's, what surprise them however is the fact that the Fitter is a swing wing, sadly its manual swing wing

    The Devs already coded AI controlled firing system on the AI controlled destroyers and AA Tanks. I don't see why they can't just give us that instead of forcing the users to input complex math to accomplish the same thing.
    .
    I dislike the idea of FT being used as a band-aid fix for everything when a simpler, robust coded solution is available or has been implemented but unavailable to the user. It just feels lazy on the Devs' part.

    Also the IR missiles should have the ability to either be programmed to lock rear sector only or all sectors of the enemy plane, to avoid firing an early Sidewinder in the front angle of a MiG...
