I'm not good at aviation (naval vehicles more), but I think most of your crafts are too simple and novice for gold and especially platinum (and for many upvotes too). Try to create complicated and "big" craft, not only low-detailed planes.
And, yes, @Tetrodotoxin is right, make more difficult previews to interest other users scrolling this website
And I know this seems ironic and hypocritical because why post at all if I don’t want popularity and fame, but I post just so people can have fun, and upvotes don’t matter anymore. Like everybody else on this forum we realize that the game is about fun, and not a ‘get popular quick’ scheme. And don’t take what I say the wrong way, but everybody has this issue but we are all polite enough to keep it to ourselves.
Upvotes don't matter at the end of the day, but if you do want to grab more attention on your posts, maybe don't take the thumbnail photo where the dark plane is on a dark background, zoomed out and have the bottom of the plane cropped out.
I upload what I appreciate, and whilst it takes me a while to build as I don’t have all the time in the world, I love building anyway because the small amount of people who like my builds always makes me happy
But even then, I always build to make me happy like @MrSilverWolf
Ah yes, Tristar has recommended the right person. From my short experience actually posting stuff, I've realized marketing is key. You've got to grab people's attention, get them interested in your build. Something unique or popular generally does this. So:
The Build Choice Building something unique tends to grab people's attention. This site has quite an abundance of Starfighters, Mustangs, Phantoms, and other "popular" and well-known aircraft. Building something that is less familiar sometimes gains more interest. If you're going to be building a "popular" plane, make sure it looks good and performs well, otherwise it might get buried.
. Make a Teaser I like to add a forums post about 2 days before I post my build. Add a little text describing what it is, but keep it mainly screenshots. People are coming to see the build, not the essay.
. Details and Realism For a good, successful build, you want to have a mix of these. It's got to look good to attract people to it but perform well too. As Asteroidbook said, randomly placed vents and rivets can only get you so far, realism is best.
. Good Screenshots Well lit, colorful screenshots will grab the viewer's attention at the thumbnail level, but having more screenshots in the description to highlight some of the builds special features of design aspects works really well. Bogdan does this well, take for example his most recent post, the TU-14. Instead of writing out all the controls for the instrument panel, he uses a simple image and labels it.
But in the end it's all internet points with no real value.

Well we all want upvotes but we must realize everybody else does and we can’t let our own desire for popularity to rule us.
@Embo ༆₤₥βΘ༆ come to my post and try it and say if its good

If you are playing the game right you shouldn’t care about upvotes
Remember, it’s not about the points, it’s about having fun with the build you made
I know my own secret of getting upvotes :)
@Embo cough cough me
@tsampoy cries in android
@RadiumOxide we're in the same boat, my friend
This why we can’t have nice things @Embo
You almost 10k and complaining now you don’t get upvotes?!?!?!?....
Make teasers (like what bagel said)
Put good thumbnails, ones shot on 9AM or 5PM (in game) with a FOV of less than 70 is appealing.
and uhh yeah, you put good details already, so you should be fine with that

Oh @RadiumOxide
@TriStar101 I feel depressed
Marketing
Ask @BagelPlane
But seriously why do you care about upvotes that much, it’s not like it shows off your social status or anything
