So I’ve been thinking for a few days. There are a lot of repeat builds some a crappy and some or great. But here is my list of the most commonly build planes on the simple planes website
The F-18
because the f-18 is one of the most iconic American aircraft and it’s relatively basic design most newer players with some experience make one of these.
The Mig-21, Mig-17, Mig-15
because of the mig’s easy cylinder shape it can easily be made quickly. Also a lot of people are Soviet simps
P-51
Because of the p-51’s status of being one of the most feared fighters of WW2 many people like to through a fuselage tube with things and a peopled together and call it a p-51
There are a lot more aircraft that I see way to often on a regular basis.
So basically what I’m saying is go do some digging in Wikipedia and make not so known aircraft so people won’t want to skip over yours because of seeing it way to often.
Or take the harder route and design your own original aircraft.

Yeah, original (as in, the creator designed and built it) builds are the best builds on SP. It isnt all about building what others in SP have already built, imo its more a place to express your creativity and building rare aircraft that none have done before
@UltimatePlayer123 exactly, I always try and be original and build my own stuff, if you want to fly those replicas go play a better suited game like dcs or x plane or something

As someone that loves weird, obscure aircraft, I would love to see some more strange or unknown stuff. I was just searching around google today and found a plane I never heard of. It's the Nakajima B4n1, really interesting looking aircraft and anyone that knows me knows I love Japanese WW2 aircraft.
I remember seeing so many Bf-109's back in the day

@BeastHunter if I where to list all planes I see way to often then I would basically be writing my collage theses. So yea I could have had the f-4 on there but I didn’t want to spend all day writing.
this game isn’t just about copying blueprints, it’s a about creativity.This. I wish there was more focus on original builds or at least replicas of rarer planes. I'm guilty of building a couple generic replicas (mig-15, a-10, etc.) to try it out but I much prefer just making builds with the freedom to make things however I want. simpleplanes is a game of endless possibilities , so we should take advantage of it by making one of a kind builds rather than building the same things over and over again.

Building your own plane is not the harder route. The reason I don’t make replicas because I can’t build planes based off of real life examples.
I have seen three F-4 Phantom teasers in the last week alone.
I primarily try to build unique planes but reality is nobody downloads them. Granted I’m new to this game on mobile. And my builds have been meh. But my new SR jet was built to be a SR 71 replacement. I have issues with it. I can’t put intakes on it, it’s too fast and blows a part. But the concept is great. Not too mention it’s sexy AF.

@ZWLenning yes go ahead and build a mig-21 they aren’t a bad aircraft it just I see way to many of them. And me and other people are getting bored of seeing them. So they must be incredible for me to even give them any thought.

While you are right, let's remember that this is a plane game and many people (like myself, the maker of one such mig-21) make things because they want to, they are not under any obligation to make different things just because a few people are fed up with them.
I mean if you don't like it, make a Sh-Tandem lmao
