I hope this doesn’t flop
This should seem somewhat obvious, but I still feel the need to explain in case I absolutely butcher something. I primarily play on my mobile, I have been for almost 8 years now, and I somewhat intend to keep playing mobile for the time being, unless a major feature gets added to the game. This new feature would allow mobile users to sync their account (or something like that) to their pc/laptop/whatever so they could have all their data (aircraft, subassemblies, completed races, etc) on a new platform.
I would imagine it going something like this:
On a mobile device:
- Open the SimplePlanes mobile app and tap settings.
- Tap a new “sync data” button.
- Sign into your account using the same interface as the “share aircraft” section that pops up if you aren’t logged in.
- Tap a new button that says “transfer data to other platform.”
- SimplePlanes will then send you an email with a “sync code.”
- You are now finished with your mobile device.
An example of this code could be “SP69-YEET-WOOO-SYNC” or “FA18-F15E-C130-SR71” or something along those lines. Based on the amount of data connected to your account, these codes could be longer or shorter.
On the other platform:
- Open the SimplePlanes game and open settings
- Click the “sync data” button.
- Sign into your account using the same method detailed in step 3 of the last section.
- Tap a new button that says “input sync code.”
- Paste the code into the input box.
- Boom! After a potential wait, your data has been safely transferred to a new platform!
Please let me know if I can clarify anything here. If you think your own method for this would be faster or more efficient, detail it in the comments.
@IMULAerospaceIndustries well, didnt know that
The problem is people with iOS devices. GameCenter (the service that iOS uses) doesn’t work on Windows.
@Mage2IsTriggered
A better way this could work would be with a link betwen a steam or google play account (or apple equivalent) in game
