This message is mostly to all my friends and those who follow me... and I guess whoever scrolled over this post randomly... hi. For those who do know me, I did have a lot of ED builds planned and I still do. My goal in SP is still the same, to turn Elite Dangerous into a mobile game before the servers eventually shut down, (They're not planning to, but it's an inevitable end for all online games. Apparently Frontier games is busy making a half-baked FPS that no one asked for, not very reassuring).
Recently I've been doing A LOT of studying for flight exams so I've had to put those builds on hold, Last thing I want to do after studying aircraft all day is to work on even more aircraft, so cars are my happy middle ground. Now that I've passed all my flight test I can start making ships again. There's a lot that goes into making space ships, especially when you're build styles is like mine that uses little to no rudders, or ailerons and instead uses engine thrust and nozzles to fly, and ED uses rooms, not cockpits. In most cases it's more of an exercise in patience. What I can say is there will be a focus on much smaller builds, no more 800 part, 2000 performance point behemoths if possible. My recent builds have been under 400 parts and my goal is to stay around that mark for the mobile community. Thanks for checking out my posts, and take care.
Ships next on the list:
- Delacy Sidewinder (part budget 400)
- Delacy Viper Mk4 (part budget 400)
- San Fran Fleet Yards NCC-1701 F (scaling is hard)
Also, I'm not giving up cars, if anything car's are my small quick fun builds, so still expect those in the future. Once I get back into things I'm planning some more complex Gutamaya builds. If there are any suggestions, feel free to comment below.
Yup, the 1701A and B models have been done too many times. For good reason, the constitution class is the most iconic ship of the Star Trek series, and the ones we got are really good, but I want to mix it up a bit. Making it to scale is whole different challenge since the Fox version is much larger. I did a small scale test with my Krait model not too long ago. I haven't set a parts budget yet, but I'm making it a goal to keep builds going forward under 400 parts. Probably impossible, but that's why I consider Simple Planes a genre I like to call "strategy building game".
wait 1701F?
