Welcome, commander. You are currently sitting inside the latest SpaceTech
innovation in robotic warfare, the Ao Jun. This weapon was inspired by the
chinese dragons of old. On the ground, this robot is a formiddable and tough
brawler. However, when its ability is active it transforms into something
completely different. Its flight drive, built-in flamethrower, and stealth
system make its ability possible. Nicknamed Dragon Breath, the ability allows
the robot to take off and activate its stealth system and flamethrower. This
specific unit is equipped with a PhaseShift module, and is supported by a
Mantis-class Mothership and SpaceTech Glider Drone. You have been assigned
to pilot this robot in various upcoming missions. Good luck on the battlefield,
Commander.
Abilities in Simpleplanes:
- Dragon breath: (Activatable on the screen UI) Robot takes off, activates its flamethrower, and arms flares.
- PhaseShift/Phasing Repair: (Activatable on the screen UI) Robot gains a pretty blue glow effect and the drone activates a healing effect. I would love to make phaseshift actually work, but thats a project for another day.
- Mantis Support: (Activatable on the screen UI) Robot is (actually) healed by an orbital energy pulse.
- Absorber Shield: (Activatable on the screen UI) The Glider Drone generates a frontal absorber shield to protect the robot. It can block missiles and part-projectiles.
Features:
- First-of-its-kind (at least I've never seen it before) 3rd person camera with a working UI like in WR. You can look around and the head of the robot will follow where you are looking. You can also look up and down, which will ajust weapon elevation and camera height accordingly.
- Smooth walking with the help of wheels, rotators and hinge rotators.
- Turning and strafing true to War Robots.
- Glider drone hovers up and down beside the robot. it is kitted out with its own effects, and shoots/looks at the same targets you shoot/look at. You can also change which side of the robot the glider drone is on in-game with Trim.
- Detailed and proportional model. It looks nice, but keep in mind that I'm silver and not platinum.
- Lighting effects
Screenshots:
Note that these pictures show an older version of the robot, and not the latest. The final model will look better than this. I already used these pics in another teaser, but I can't take more right now because I'm at school.
