Today, I have some questions i want to ask y’all about, ranging from questions for the site to the actual game.
What happens if you upvote a post, then after the creator gets the points and their point count gets updated, then you remove the upvote, does the creator keep those points. If yes, what happens if you upvote it again?
How old is simple planes, and was it inspired by any other game?
What was the first official mod for simple planes? How old is it?
How long on average does it take to make a mod? What mod took the most time to make?
Is it possible to make a mod for simple planes that would allow the creator to make holes on any part of a fuselage?
What is the oldest account that still uploads? How many creator points do they have?
Is there a max part count for simple planes? If there isn’t what build has the highest part count ever?
What was the first official announcement for when a new developer joined the team? When was it? Which developer was it for?
What was the first simple planes build posted? How many points does it have today? Who was it made by?
How many downloads was there for simple planes in the first week of release?
What was the first forums post? Who was it by? How long ago was it made?
Those are the questions i was wondering about. Thank you so much for reading this, and have a good day!
@JustWingIt no problem. Also yeah, that does seem…
suspicious
Also, did you guys catch that WNP78 missed #6? Hmm, suspicious imposter conspiracy theory material?
@idontknow8b Aww, thanks! I just had to do a lot of schoolwork for the semester interim, so I can't build anything for awhile. Ive got a bunch of SOLs soon too. This means I can't work on the drone. I've been trying to find time, but I also just went to a nerf event this weekend and participated in NHD. When it comes to the post, don't really know how to answer many of these questions, but I can confirm that Andrew is the oldest active account and the first post was the Corsair.
@Titaninfernal1 I am indeed V
@7 Is it my impression or are you the... V
@DeveloperKorzalerke these are good friends of mine, and i wanted to see if they knew anything about any of these questions, but 7 and WNP78 gave me the answers.
1: removing upvotes removes points
.
2: about 7 years to my knowledge
.
3: idk
.
4: I'm not a mod maker
.
5: unsure
.
6: likely andrew, he has about 30k I belive
.
7: I would say the integer limit. On the other hand, I currently hold the part count record
.
8: I'm pretty sure the only devs added to the team with official announcements was hellfirekoder and WNP78, hellfire was first.
.
9: this, it is unknown who made it, and why it cannot be commented on is also unknown.
.
10: unknown
.
11: unknown
.
1 - Removing an upvote will remove the points it gave when that users points next update
2 - Here's a super old video of SP https://youtu.be/clglambOTHA, on Andrew's channel. This was well before my time (I joined between 2 and 3 years ago) but it gives you some idea of when the game was being initially developed. Jundroo had already made a number of engineering/building games including the original SimpleRockets, so it was probably a continuation of this trend, upped to 3d.
3 - Don't know, probably a test mod. Mods section is relatively new (on the timescale of the game's lifetime). Previously they were on the forums, and maybe even on the subreddit before that.
4 (and 5) - Depends what the mod is and who makes it. Mods can do basically anything if you know how to do said thing. It's not about what a mod can do but what the person making the mod makes it do.
7 - There's no hard limit, just what system resources can handle. It'd definitely blow up over 2147483647 since integer indexing would overflow but you'd run out of memory way way before then.
8 - Don't know
9 - I think it's this one - it was uploaded before accounts were a thing so nobody has the points from it, but I think it was Andrew's.
10 - no clue, and "release" is a relative term given it was released at different times on android/ios, gumroad, then steam, and also other app stores like amazon and GOG.
11 - dunno. Probably by Andrew because he's the one that does the website development.
@idontknow8b Don't tag random people, only devs and mods should be tagged like this if necessary.
