Hey, been some time since I’ve posted something. Was wondering if any creators out there is willing to make a tutorial on
1. How to make variable-sweep wings
2. How to make a VTOL aircraft
(preferably jet aircraft and/or a tiltrotor). A prime example is the V-22 Osprey, and others such as the Bell V-280 Valor and the AW609.
3. How to make a proper cockpit for planes and/or helicopters (this may include HUD’s, instrument panel, flight controls, rudder pedals, etc.)

Variable sweep wings are just that. Remember that if you want weapons on the swing wings, the pylons must rotate too
.
For VTOL, have the CoT aligned with the CoM in the left/right and front/back directions. This stops the engines from spinning your plane which is very bad for takeoff and landing. Note that if you have decorational engines, or engines only used in forward flight, CoT positioning won't be reliable
Also try gyros, they make hovering easier, but DON'T rely too much on them when building
.
Instrument panel design comes from understanding pilots' needs. Generally, things you need to look at more (e.g. artificial horizon) go high on the panel. Things you use less (e.g. fuel gauge, light switches) go lower or overhead.
Try to copy the position of the seats, instrument panel, and flight controls from stock planes. Check the human shape by selecting the seat.

Sweep wings is basically just adding a rotator/hinge rotator to the wing make sure you look at the Hellkeska (simple) I think I spelled it right) and look the the wings you will see a rotator rotating the wings with VTOL
.
The VTOL aircraft is a bit complex, but I just add wings and rotators so the the engines can move back or forward or even up
.
About the cockpit, its a also a bit complex but I suggest looking at images (example I search for "F-14B cockpit”) and I just add the instruments that looks close enough to the image and then I add the switches, buttons, yoke etc etc
@UmbrellaCorporation my number was 5130, not 5180, I forgot to change it.
@UmbrellaCorporation done
@UmbrellaCorporation it’s in my bio
@UmbrellaCorporation ofc I do
As hpgb said, use the seat part for making the cockpit. You also shouldn't XML resize it as it's been sized to be realistically scaled to a comparable seat and human in real life. This can help you with scaling your build to a realistic size.
honestly swing wings are pretty simple
what we needed instead is a TVC tutorial
variable sweep wings is quite self-explanatory
