A Prototype/Experimental Challenge?
I had the idea in mind, because these two categories have always been quite fascinating to me. And I don't see these two categories getting much love in the site, so yeah.
I plan on making it into three different categories for difficulties, and a little competition.
I also plan on streaming at Discord for the competition, but who knows. If not, maybe I'll do a video about it and let ya'll judge on which is the winner.
Difficulties will be divided by 3, which are:
- Beginner
- Intermediate
- Expert
Each will have different set of rules and a different deadline.
I won't make the rules as strict as my first challenge, except for Experts and uh, yeah. Lemme know if you'd be interested.
Yeah @zerowithslashedO
@Kangy
I'll just make a different categories for experimental/prototype
@ZeroWithSlashedO i'd say make the challenge for "weaponized" prototype aircraft because that removes basically all the odd balls that will ruin the challenge
@Kangy
Ok
you'd need some form of categorization too especially given someone could just make an x-15 and out pace anything
@ZeroWithSlashedO Sure. I got time.
@ReinMcDeer
I definitely would for the experts.
For intermediate, maybe just a little bit strict.
For the beginners, I wouldn't put the rules strictly.
Oh, and uh, by competition I mean judges. Speaking of judges, would you be interested in becoming one?
I'll watch, but
.
Make. The. Rules. Strict.
Having watched SPSC's dogfight tournament, relaxed rules were a MAJOR issue for balancing. Set a limit on guns, missiles, etc. and their XML values. I'd also enforce liftScale=1 and scale=(1,1,1) for wings and some rules regarding hidden wings and engine power at the very least.
