This is a small list of suggestions for things that might improve the quality of Simpleplanes, whether it be done through mods or in-game implementation.
CLOUD CEILING (IN-GAME)
One big issue I have noticed is that clouds don't have a set altitude. It looks really weird to have flat clouds when you're at 130,000ft way above you. I think it would be nice to have clouds at different altitudes, and settings for this.
THERMALS/AIR CONVECTION (MOD/IN-GAME)
It's rather difficult to ascend in gliders or light-aircraft without significantly losing speed. Perhaps it might be a good idea to have a thermals option that would basically act as a weak wind blowing upwards, or sinking air that slightly pulls the aircraft down, in random locations (by frequency settings) and with a certain strength (using strength settings).
Thoughts or suggestions? Let me know!
Note: the "ALTITUDE LIGHTING" section has been removed, because it already exists as a mod.
The fact that a game about airplanes does not have physical clouds is kinda not cool
@exosuit Thanks for letting me know! I will try it.
altitude lighting exist as a mod (DarkBlue)
For the clouds... in fact they are fixed on a plan which keeps the same altitude relative to you, so you can't reach them. Actually it's simple, but yeah, some clouds like the clouds 2.0 mod would be much more realistic, but the game will run slower.
The air convection is a very interesting thing
And for the altitude lighting, it would have to come at the same time as the clouds work, because it's related with the actual sky background.
