Ok so the artemis 1 is testing the Orion Captual and the other systems on board. This is an unmanned test artemis 2 will be manned but NASA is going to put everything to the test especially the heat shield on re entry because you can do so much on earth then what you can actually achieve in space!
@SyntheticL Chances are that traveling to the moon in such a low timeframe would increase the price of the mission exponentially, which isn’t worth it given that this is not a crewed mission
@SyntheticL I believe Artemis I is traveling slower for better efficiency (and more time for experiments and capsule testing, since they aren't really in a hurry anyway).

I thought Apollo ships only takes a week to get to the moon and back.
