@BeastHunter Managed to make a map work
It looks as plain as anything in this world gets, but it loads fine, I think what you got wrong was not selecting all the stuff you added.
@BeastHunter Took over 20 minutes to export and didn't even show up in the menu.
Oof.
Guess I really do need unity 2020.3.26f1 for it to work, gonna install it now.
Btw how did you figure out you needed that version specifically? Was it luck or did you see it on a dev blog?
@BeastHunter You need to select the stuff you added below "Untitled (or whatever else the main thing on the left is called)" and click "Save Selected Scene Objects".
So this window shows up when I try to run the mod builder thing and as you can see it says I need to install something called "Mac Build Support" to make mods, I'll see if I can figure out how to do that.
@BeastHunter Does not support this platform? Odd.
I recall when trying Unity 2018 (didn't work at all btw) it asked me what platform I wanted to make stuff for, maybe you need to set that to Windows somewhere?
@BeastHunter This seems to work (do note things take some time to load, so have patience):
Tested with Unity 2020.3.44.
Step 1: Open Unity and select "Create empty project", then choose a folder to place it in.
Step 2: After if loads, click "Assets", "Import Package > Custom package", then browse to where the mod tools file is and open it.
Step 3: On the new window that pops up, click "Import" without unticking any boxes.
Step 4: Click yes if a popup asks you about some input thing.
Step 5: Click on the new "SimplePlanes" button, that shows a bunch of options related to mod creation like setting spawn points or the mod builder thing which I think is used once the mod is done and you want to export it.
That should be enough to get you started, for more things about mod creation I'd recommend you ask MOPCKOEDNISHE, he's probably the most experienced modder around.
@temporaryplanetester Okay.

@temporaryplanetester I got that error message too.

@temporaryplanetester Okay, I did install 2020.26.
@BeastHunter It says this but still lets me save the mod after clicking ok.
I'll see if it loads now.
@BeastHunter Apparently mono is already set up by default, odd.
Maybe that warning is just there in case you change it, I'll try packaging up the thing to see if it works.
@temporaryplanetester Okay. Thanks.

@temporaryplanetester Okay. Ican't get the "maps added" part to show up either.

@temporaryplanetester Thanks.
@BeastHunter Hmmm...
Time to install Unity again, I'll try making a test map instead of just seeing if it boots up this time, see ya tomorrow.
@temporaryplanetester It just doesn’t show up in the mod sandbox maps.
@BeastHunter Wdym? It doesn't appear on the "Sandbox Maps" thing even without the error?
@temporaryplanetester It seems the error is gone but the mod itself remains inaccessible.
@temporaryplanetester Okay.
@BeastHunter Yeah I get it, I made the same mistake before on my old account.
Anyways see the previous comment.
@temporaryplanetester Got here, can't figure out what is wrong. (Sorry about tagging you twice, I had to remove some personal information).

@temporaryplanetester Hmmmmm. I can’t seem to trigger the window that is supposed to pop up at step three. I’ll try it later.

@temporaryplanetester It simply does nothing.
It shows an error when you try to open the mod tools on unity? Or do you mean the program crashes?
I'll test this tomorrow to see what happens.
