I Got Bored

27.8k TheFlightGuySP  1.6 years ago

I've been working on an airliner project for a few days now.

Wanted to see what it would look like in an airflow simulator.

This is the result:

The wings actually generate lift.

    11 hours? Guess I should check back tomorrow then.

    For anyone who wants to try this out, it's something called "AeroCloud", here's a link. Requires making a free account to use though.

    Since this technically doubles as a teaser post, type "T" for tag requests.

    @Dragoranos Sorry, I know this is a late reply.
    There's a 3D Print/Export button in the designer menu.

    Cockpit Generate Lift?

    @TheFlightGuySP So you can only run 3 simulations if you can't pay?
    Sighs

    How did you convert the sp model to a 3d one?

    @TheFlightGuySP that’s okey

    @ChamDel78 It's currently sitting around 300 parts. Still needs landing gear and windows though, so the final part count may be closer to 400 or more.

    @ChamDel78 It is basically just a 727 with bigger engines and a cruciform tail configuration.

    @TheFlightGuySP yeah, I got mine for free from a friend. They really aren't terribly expensive.

    @32 Nah, I plan to get my own 3D printer. There's some nice ones under $200USD I'm looking at currently.

    @TheFlightGuySP well if you have money to burn I could print and mail you the parts...

    @32 That's a great idea!
    I've wanted to do something like that for a while now, but unfortunately I don't have a 3D printer (yet).

    And I just learned about the drag point button-

    I might use this in conjunction with 3d printing to make a working glider from SimplePlanes

    Oh so that's why they asked me for a rotation

    Guess I'll have to wait some more, I did get a sweet technical paper on the aerodynamics of the perpetually cobra maneuvering plane though, so that's nice at least.

    Edit: Not sure if attempt 2 is much better

    @100 Now, I did the exporting and whatnot on PC. I don't really know if SP mobile has an export option.
    If you can export it then it should work just fine.

    @100 It's online. No download required.
    Should work just fine on mobile devices (it worked on mine).
