the designer settings mod has an option to sort by last saved, makes it a lot easier to find your current creations, but folders would be monumental, yes

What i do is i make folders inside game's aircraft folder and alt tab and move those i want to games folder

Not a bad idea, if you've been playing for a few years, you know that things can get out of hand in the saves folder. You can end up scrolling for 10 minutes trying to find something because do you remember what it looks like but forgot what it's called.
