So there's a build I'm trying to balance, it tends to roll twitch whenever I'm done pitching (If I pitch up and then let it go, it rolls a lil bit, kinda looks like a twitch like something is irritating it). I'm using (Roll-RollRate/90) to try and correct it but it then starts to flutter the elevators at high speeds (Around 500mph). Is there a way to stop the flutter at high speeds while maintaining the sensitivity (The 90)?
@hpgbproductions
Okay thanks!
@ToeTips afaik the distance between the CoL and control surface doesn't matter
Generally, the further away the wing or control surface is from the CoM, the more rotation is produced. Even though the lift is the same, the rotation moment/torque around the CoM is greater.
@hpgbproductions Okay one more thing, if a the COL is further than the control surface, does also that give the control surface more authority over the craft, along with the COM?
@ToeTips abs converts negative numbers to positive. It's not a condition statement
Just find some good values that you can replace 90 with at different speeds, try to fit a curve to it, and write it in FT
@hpgbproductions
Okay, also abs is that the condition statement?
@ToeTips since you divide instead of multiply, you must increase 90 when fast
@hpgbproductions
So like decrease the 90 when it gets faster?
I mean that if your plane has this kind of issue, trying to fix it with FT should be the last thing you try
But if you want to make a roll by funky tree, you can try to reduce the multiplier as speed increases, since the oscillation only happens at high speed.
@ToeTips take a look at funky tree guide

@XxRxX
Okay, well there's an update
I'm now transitioning to a 5th gen F-16, the plane I was talking about was a forward swept wing design I made a while back, was quite unstable. And now the question... How do you start a new code? Like canards do this when this is active . Do that when that is active etc?
@ToeTips just to be sure everything
But depending on how the aircraft behavior should tell what it needs
Increase main wings that provide lift
Then the vertical wings
See if it helps
@XxRxX
The main wings? Or the elevators?
Increase wings sizes
It might fix it
@32
Its not really a new build, it's my second plane, which you helped to balance. Im learning how to balance that cause I plan to make a very unstable plane.
@hpgbproductions
Well I mirrored them so I don't see why that would be the case. Also i have already tried setting False collisions to true
You may have a colliding/loose part, or your elevators are not equal
Hmm. My FT skills are a little basic, but if you tagged me on an unlisted I may be able to help.
