Back from a semi-dead state lol.
All the stations are (finally) complete, making SPMR about 80 to 85% complete (yay)!
Anyways, there are a lot of things to share since the last update. Let's start with the most exciting piece of news:
Early Access Released!
The unfinished version (with all stations) has been uploaded as an unlisted post. It's complete with a full setup guide, meaning that you can effectively play with SPMR before it gets officially released.
But hold up, I'm not giving the link away so freely. If I did, I might as well just publish it.
Criteria to Get SPMR Early Access
You must promise that you'll do one (or both) of the following:
a) build rolling stock for SPMR (preferably passenger/metro trains. Subway trains must have a livery featuring #008B68 and any kind of decal saying "Yeager Metro".)
b) promote SPMR through videos or as a background for your thumbnails.
Only then will I tag you on the unlisted post, allowing you to enjoy SPMR Early.
On to the main teaser! Again, here's a list of everything I've added so far:
First Tunnel in SimplePlanes
I'm very sure it's the first. (Yay!)
Forest Hill Station
The very first underground station along the Hartsford Line, the station boasts an island platform with escalators and lifts. To reflect its location underneath Forest Hill, the walls are painted with (don't worry, very lag-free) tree decals.
Embley
Inspired by London Underground and MTR stations, the island platform here has a sloping wall. The station itself is also curved, sitting right in the middle of the curved portion of track.
The sloped wall will be given a lesser curve soon, so you don't need to worry about it looking too overwhelming now.
Completing the Circle
As you may have seen in my previous post, the loop line is officially complete.
I've now fixed most of the bugs, and you can now drive in a complete loop from Hartsford to Hartsford. Basically, it means that you don't need to turn back in the opposite direction, which becomes useful when you're driving trains powered by locomotives.
Updated System Map
Changed Embley to become a 3-way interchange, and updated some of the line colours.
Goodnight, and remember,
@L3FT2R1GHT
1. basically if you post a train or car (remember that the map has roads too), you can use SPMR as a background for the thumbnail.
2. As long as you agree to promote SPMR/build rolling stock for it, I’ll tag you on the early access post.
3. There’s a specific bogie that I’ve been using for all my trains. Even though other SPR-compatible bogies work on SPMR, this has been tested the most, so it’s the most reliable. I’ll post it tonight.
4. Platform height and maximum train car length is roughly based on my Bombardier Movia C951. Platform gap is pretty forgiving (since I made it able to accommodate broad-gauge trains), but I estimate it’s around 3.25m.
Hopefully it answers all your questions
Yo is this for mobile???
T, i thought this is was mod map for a mobile after seeing some comments i did'nt expect if this is was a build
@SaturnUsedAutos me too
T pls I made many trains for this and a bus is coming soon
Of the unbuilt Railway lines, I think the Meridian Line will be the most possible to make with the existing map (early access map), but I'll wait and see. I can't wait!
I can't wait!
Dude literally recreates Metrostroi in SimplePlanes
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes T please
@Sayaanakpintar no problem
T
PLIS tag me RepublicOfCursedPlanes
T
@SaturnUsedAutos @DatTrainGuy19 uh... I'll allow it I guess, since part of my map was built for freight trains. Just don't put "Yeager Metro" on the freight cars lmao
@SaturnUsedAutos mate, this is a subway map for crying out loud
Really cool, i want to make rolling stock for freight!
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes okay
@Samfpanzer you’ll have to show it to me first; tag me on an unlisted post or something
If I build an entire train and it has requirements of option A for getting early access, would that count?
@Samfpanzer oh I see.
I built the curves by attaching 1-metre segments of straight track to each other, with each being tilted by 5 degrees more than the one before it.
So a 180º curved track contains 36 segments of 1m-long track (which, with guide rails, makes up a total of 180 parts).
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes Yeah, I figured the moment I saw the word
@ShinyGemsBro well it's called SimplePlanes Mobile Railway for a reason lol
I thought this was gonna be a custom map.
Didn't expect it to be a complete downloadable build
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes no I mean make the turns as in build them
@Samfpanzer refer to my pinned comment.
Also, uh, don’t you just drive normally (though at a reduced speed) on curved tracks?
What is the distance between the rails additional how do you make the turns?
