How would you know of the fuselage in 2014-2015?
it was a bit glossier and grayish than today, but the version was good because it has sp classic reflections on the plane

Planes with round hollow fuselages (made by panneling) definitely existed before 2018
Fuselage blocks weren't added until veraion 1.2. Plus, the SP Classic reflections looked weird and gray because there wasn't a metallic setting on the parts, so it was always looked like it was set to 0. And the island in the SP Classic reflections was an island that was in the alpha version of SP, which can be seen in this video here
