When you are playing simple planes, there are many methods how to get more followers. Here are some of the time tested methods.
1. Building extremely high quality planes.
When people see a newer user posting very good planes, they follow this user, so the user can get better. So if you take time, and build good planes, you can get lots of followers.
2. Being a drama user.
Many users that are well known for creating drama also have many followers. This is because many people on the sp website want to keep up on the day to day drama.
3. Following tons of people.
When you are followed by someone, it gives you a notification, that brings you to their profile. This means that very often people will follow you back if you follow them.
4. Being around for a long time.
When you are around for a long time, you will eventually amas a very large amount of followers. @Graingy is an example of this. The downside to this is that by the time you have a good amount of followers, most of them will be inactive.
5. Being a mod or dev.
Mod and devs have much more followers than normal people because of red/blue badge privileges. People are legally required to follow them.
6. Posting forum posts like this.
If you see this forum post, or a forum post like this, you are legally required to follow the person who posted it.
7. Posting funny comments.
There are some people I know who have never posted anything. However, they still have many followers. How? They make funny comments, and people follow them. (Just like that, very simple.)
A good example of this is @Senkopilot who has never posted anything, but has 18 followers.
8. Creating an alt.
If you create an alt, and tell people about it, most people that follow you will also follow the alt. This can give your alt a lot of followers, but it does not really help you.
9. German Corsair.
Post a german corsair.
10. Post a tank.
The second you post a tank, @Silverpanzer is legally required to follow you. This will give you at least one follower. (He probably will spotlight too, giving you even more chances for a follower)

Simply do not care about followers, just build what comes from your soul, do not pretend to do anything else. Don't be a drama user it's not worth the hassle.
