Background: Been a naughty boy in school lately and opening simpleplanes in class. Don't do much, all I do is make quite a few planes with miniguns and play dogfight mode, where I play with the aforementioned planes with miniguns. I find playing with the guns to be really fun
Something I noticed is that it kinda gets 'uninteresting' partly because there's not alot of customization n stuff. Something like wind, time of day and all that. They (environment settings) are disabled while playing dogfight, so all I do is fight the bot on a clear sunny day with no winds.
I think that you should be able to set the wind settings and the time of day, and visibility, and really just the environmental settings before starting the dogfight match. That's all)
(I guess you could say one can set up dogfights doing all that using custom locations in the actual sandbox gameplay but there's no way in heck I'm gonna do that ngl lmao)
right that turned out to be longer than i imagined
@ShinyGemsBro I understand, but I still believe that shortcuts would be of no \harm\
In the very bottom, I 'mentioned' about setting up custom locations for achieving extra customization. Let's take that as an example—Technically, setting up the locations (the add current location) would be a one time job, and, not only that, because It's the actual sandbox, you can fight more than one opponent. The problems start when you want to make a different scenarios, because then you might have to do some of that one time job again. Things like altitude, distance between planes, and speed. Also, one may not like fighting starting from the same place always, so the one time job would be done again.
Dogfight mode's primary thing really is simply doing all that location work so that the player—who wants to have a good time—could just boot it up and play. Yes—it itself is very barebones, but I believe that more customization, like the one stated in the post, can be added. Perhaps in some sort of 'advanced settings' button.
It is true that 'you don't need to ask for something that's already there' but I don't think that it should prevent one ro consider convenient ways. I mean, I copy paste using ctrl+c ctrl+v most of the times instead of actively using the right mouse button
(\= minor apelling changes)
@KudaOni your can also search by islands, type in wright and it will show all locations near wright islands. It works for every other major island
@Randomplayer That depends actually. If you fly off to a very far away place with no islands nearby, then you'll only see the locations you added. No need for searching
@KudaOni I know you can do that. I have so much I have to search for one in the search bar
@Sunkray You can customize dogfights in sandbox by using the tip I gave below this comment.
But yeah, It would be fun to customize in the dogfight option. Maybe in SP2
@Randomplayer A great tip for that is to actually fly around and do the "Add Current Location" in the air, and then just spawn your AI enemy there after you get away~ careful though, depending on how fast you were flying when adding the location, that is the speed on which the AI will spawn
@ShinyGemsBro starting sandbox dogfights are hard. Usually all the ai planes, are Allie’s, even when I put Agro
@ShinyGemsBro I don't know maybe because you shouldn't have to set up a sandbox dogfight if there is already a dogfight mode
Thats one way to put how lazy you are in setting up sandbox dogfights
If it's something you can already do anyway with whatever options you have at your disposal, do it that way.
You don't need to ask for something that's already there.
Can someone tag a dev its a genuine question
