CSA will leave Skyteam before the end of the year
Czech airline CSA Czech Airlines, the fifth oldest airline in the world, continues to "die" in front of all of us. A month ago, it was reported that in October, the airline will stop operating flights under its IATA code - "OK", and will begin operating "QS" flights of the parent company Smartwings.
And now it has become known that CSA will leave the Skyteam global alliance on October 26 this year.
"CSA Czech Airlines is terminating operations in accordance with its current scheduled flights. As a result, CSA Czech Airlines' Skyteam membership will be terminated on October 26, 2024... Given the current limited schedule and the Czech Airlines network, the overall impact on Skyteam's global customer offering will be negligible," a Skyteam representative said.
CSA has been a Skyteam member since 2001. Smartwings is not a member of any aviation alliance.
CSA will become part of the Travel Service holding on October 27, 2024. All flights will be transferred under the management of Smartwings, although the brand, website and distribution channels of CSA will continue to exist. The company maintains a plan to receive four Airbus A220-300 aircraft in the fourth quarter of 2024, but they will already fly under the Smartwings operator certificate
Bye CSA (ik I'm late :(
Goodbye csa
Goodbye Czech Airlines. (6 October 1923-26 October 2024) :(
Goodbye CSA, the last Europe airline
nothing can last forever
Their A220 will be delivered in November. But they will be operated under SmartWings. The ČSA livery will be only symbolic. We need somebody brave enough to found a new full-service airline and take over ČSA or it needs a new director. Smartwings cannot be a national airline, they are a low-cost airline! Rest in peace 🕊️😓
CSA is a husk now and besides they only operate 2 A320s and for a national flag carrier??? They are so cooked. 😭
