What's is Flyout, should I be worried?

38.5k Hiiamhere  16 days ago

I have seen a new plane building game popping up from time to time called flyout.

It honestly looks better then simpleplanes og/1.

Our simpleplanes community is pretty small and simpleplanes two is not going to releas for at least a few months.

Should I be worried about players leaving to head to flyout?

Note! I will probably never leave simpleplanes because it has a amount physics breaking freedom with xml that Flyout doesn't have. Also simpleplanes isn't realy fully a plane game it's a vehicle game.

    no worries, just another game.
people will leave, it won't end the world.
I'll still be here even if everyone else leaves. We can be lonely together.

Isn't SimplePlanes complicated in a way? In my opinion, it probably is more complicated than FO if you know what youre doing because you can't really be more flexible with what you can do with the fuselage in SP, just to give an example. I mean I know you won't really figure that out but I guess that's obvious.

@ShiroNeko from what I’ve heard, flyout is complicated, so only try-hards would play it

Thanks for the opinion. Would you try to make it plausible?

I bought FO on day one. it has some pretty good stuff (for example the fuselage edges are infinitely customizable which I really liked and I hope Jundroo will come up with something similar in SP2) but it takes different approaches in other aspects so I think the two games can perfectly coexist, no need to be afraid that the community will die or something (especially with SP2 on the horizon which will probably give the community a big wave of new players as well as make some old ones return).

    FlyOut

    • Realism
    • Graphics
    • Building complexity but higher accuracy

    SimplePlanes

    • Creativity
    • Sandbox
    • Possibilities

I said it before on another post; both are good in their own rights.
This war between SP and FO is petty af and doesn't really do good for either side.

I actually listened to a "documentary" about this. Essentially speaking, if looks and realism are your cup of tea, Flyout is the better choice, but if you like creative freedoms, experimentation, dogfighting and more, SimplePlanes wins.
Plus, from what I've seen, SimplePlanes certainly is simple compared to Flyout, which is quite charming.
That, and I doubt I can make a half-decent A-40B Havoc II in Flyout. SimplePlanes may not be perfect (as close as it comes), but at least I can make unstoppable planet destroyers!

Flyout is doing better than sp by 200 players nothing to worry about.
Also sp’s all time player count was 830?

It's exactly what you said it is. A new plane building game that looks better than simpleplanes when it comes to graphics, physics and stuff like that. But i believe simpleplanes (and soon simpleplanes 2) gives it's players more creative freedom. Both games have their up's and down's. Some prefer one over the other. And devs themselves said simpleplanes won't be receiving any major updates so that they can focus on SP2 more. So don't be surprised if some players chose to leave simpleplanes.
