So recently, I wanted to play a certain type of server. It would be a 1.8.8 survival no pvp server. However, The requirements was that I needed to be 18 AND fill out an application that looked like I was applying for an office job. here is an example
- How long have you played Minecraft?
- Why do you like Minecraft?
- Name your playing style.
- Location:
- Age:
- Amount of time you spend playing weekly?
- Have you ever been banned or kicked from a server?
- Pictures(if any) of your greatest builds!
- Other (This counts the most, any info you think we should know of course!)
- Finally your IGN(In Game Name):
WHAT!? So now to play on a server (which mind you, I had just heard of and was doubtful of joining) I need to fill out a form that says WHERE I LIVE AND MY AGE!? What use does that have? I mean, you probably need to be 13 or have parental consent for like the chat(but if swearing is disallowed maybe not), but why where i live? Also, the part about "your greatest builds" confuses me. if your builds aren't considered good enough, can you not join? Also, what about the "why do you like Minecraft section"? i don't need to prove why I like Minecraft! if I didn't, I wouldn't join this server!
Overall, I think that while a short list of questions(like "are you 13+ or have parental permission?" and "What is your In Game username?") would be good, a large list of unnecessary(in my mind) details makes me think twice about joining. Is it worth it?
BTW, One server said i need to be 18+. Why? Minecraft is a kids game, and so kids should be the ones playing it the most, not adults.
@overlord5453 Yeah probably.
Some questions are reasonable and i can see how they are related to the game. But why do they want your location?. At that point, just find another server.
