help with modeling and blueprints

13.7k o2o  23 days ago

As you know, SP has unique ways to create models, but I am having some issues with this system. I am trying to model myself a Porsche 917 frame using some blueprints but I don't know how to model every single tube consistently, as they aren't something straight vertical or horizontal, they move back and forth both ways at the same time making it insanely challenging. The worst part is someone already has a model available online but I have to wait a month or more for me to have a CHANCE at downloading this model. Any advice?

if you are wondering what this could be for, I am trying to make myself my own Porsche 917 kit car. I have gotten the body panels, and all the mechanical components modeled and down, I just need a legitimate frame and this is my only reliable option without it looking completely out of wack.

best regards, o2o

@jamesPLANESii sorry for the delayed response, and the main trouble I am having is with viewing the blueprints and correctly matching how each pipe goes. Matching vertically and horizontally is not something I can do well, especially since I haven’t touched this game in a year lol. I keep scrapping over and over.

@Randomplayer sorry for the delayed response, I am just trying to use it as a 3d modeler, which I will put into another modeling software and then bring it into real life.

Are you struggling to put parts on angles and rotate parts?

BTW I'm looking at that model and oh boy I would not recommend using that lol
