Last night one of my 3 chickens was left outside the coop without us knowing. In the morning we let the chickens out of the coop only to see two. We later found blood and feathers…
I can’t seem to get over the fact that it might be my fault

RIP to your chicken, but mistakes happen, and it might not be your fault, there is a somewhat high chance that the universe predetermined everything. I know this doesn’t; help much, but I suck at consuling people
@Graingy If I see it I will. Trust me
@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 Hey, I have kindergartener humour. I can’t help myself.
@YourLocalJetNut330 Kick Rambley’s ass.

Thank you all for your support. It’s been a difficult week for me. Was it appropriate that this morning I hoped to wake up like this was a bad dream or was it not. I just hope it was quick and painless for my chicken.
F for your... y'know.
@TheUltimatePlaneLover Just make sure the chickens don't walk into the bear traps!
@TheUltimatePlaneLover the barn must be secured at all cost! Get rid of those lousy predators
@LunarEclipseSP I'm with Eclipse
F in the chat for the chicken (rest in peace) but we can't let his/her death keep us from protecting the other two
Maybe one of them bear traps or barbed wire. Or something else that traps foxes.
I assume some predators might snuck onto your coop. Usually foxes.
My suggestion is to improve the security on your chicken coop or set some traps.
I know this has been hard, and it’s easy to dwell on what went wrong. But mistakes don’t define you—they teach you. You didn’t lose them because you didn’t care; you lost them because life is fragile, and sometimes things go wrong despite our best efforts.
The two you have left need you now more than ever. Pour your love into them. Let them remind you that life moves forward, even after loss. And most importantly, forgive yourself. You’re human, and you’re doing your best—and that’s enough.
@XEPOH that ain't making things better, but brutally honest.
