Hallo.
Sometimes you find something, whatever that may be, and you think there could be promise, but you find it comes up lacking. So, you decide to give some feedback to the creator.
How far do you go?
Personally, I don't give feedback often but when I do, like really do, I often go into detail. Nitpicky, even.
How about you? Do you even give feedback, or do you sling banal three word jokes like a bloody NPC?
Yes, that was directed at some of you.
Anyways, feedback, how you do?
In my 2 years with simpleplanes.com i have never criticised a single build lol
T
I rarely give feedback or criticize, because my skills are far from the best, so I have nothing to say, I just give motivation with template phrases: "Nice Tank", "Good Tank", "Wonderful Tank" and so on.
I rarely give feedback to begin with
@Graingy not rank. I won't resort to harsh words right away. That will depend on how the creator responds. Rank got nothing to do with that.
@LM0418 In what sense?
It depends on who I'm critiquing.
When giving feedback, most of the time I talk about precise points, and I encourage the builder so he know what he could do on his future builds in order to get better.
Sometimes there is just nothing to say. Or sometimes when the build is not playable, I give up. I prefer to spend time on builds which have great potential and in which I feel that the builder want to put efforts in them.
yes
@Strucker Not a public craft, I take it?
Personal attacks can be hard to shake. Looks like a challenge? What's worse is they went out of their way to be an asshole. The usual solution to a bad challenge entry is to just... ignore it.
The only case I'd go after someone for low quality is if they've been playing long enough that they really should know better (e.g. inability to use custom corners on fuselage in the most basic ways, SP 101 stuff), but I'd never phrase it so insultingly.
If something doesn't meet standards, and it warrants discussion, perhaps the adjectives should be left at the door.
@Graingy Oh absolutely. It’s like 6 years old and it still bothers me so much, just on a deep primal level. What makes it worse is how the (not naming names) author said that the “review was deserved”. Again, it just bothers me on a deep level that is hard to shake.
@Strucker Wow, that's rude. There's a difference between not sugarcoating and being a prick. That was definitely the latter.
I try to be reasonable. Give criticism but also compliment what I like. I mean after all I know how it feels.
@LowQualityRepublic
i may give a bad feedback if it is a stolen post or if the guy who made it is a weirdo
other than that, usually i make joke comments
@OverlordPrime Creator as in someone you know/rando, or rank?
Depends on what I'm looking at......and the creator
depends on my mood
Advice, Motivation, Talking about Self-Improvement.
Compliment sandwich. I compliment them first, then I will go into some aspect they could improve, then close it with another compliment. I won't really go too deep into the detail and being extremely critical.
I try to pick at least one good thing for every bad thing, gotta balance out the bad vibes
If I give feedback, it is often only advice, and then only when I know the solution or am sure that the author can do it
i just kindly point the flaw out,sometimes w heart,or a smiley :) <3
I'm an NPC 🥀
