Is this allowed?

26.4k Rob119  12 days ago

The other day I ate some spinach cheese ravioli.... that's completely unrelated but feel I needed to share.

Anyways

My question:

Is spotlighting my alts posts against the rules?
I ask this because it seems that the whole "don't
do blah to your alt" thing isn't really inforced alot,
and the whole "buh mods no see it" thing isn't
correct as I reported someone for that a while
ago and to no avail. But now I'm wondering

Is spotlighting your own stuff so your audience sees it allowed?

I feel I need to ask. Because it makes sense to me atleast. Spotlighting doesn't give points, thus should be fine as all your doing is showing your alts stuff to your main audience.
Not point giving.

And yes I can just consult the rules but those from what I've noticed loosely enforced and are even just not followed often for user benefit for better or worse.

Anyways what I'm asking is again is this OK?

And I understand the argument "well buh, just put it on your main if you want your audience to see it buh" and yes again I understand

But I really want to keep my main account for real posts, teasers, ect, and use my alt for unfinished builds or projects and challenges.

And no next question won't be "is upvoting my own stuff bad" like I agree that that is bad and against the rules.

Also rq if you do do this and this is against the rules don't out yourself. Just say you agree or hell that you disagree idc.

Obviously same goes for everyone else. And since im not sure what mods to tag I'll let that be to anyone who wants to tag em while I read the rules very carefully and consult my drywall if this is ok or not

Quick thing. Ik you have a limited amount of spotlights (trust me ik) so I can also see how it would hurt other users by me not being able to spotlight them.

@Squirrel I do agree. But they just agreed with what I said and provided a link to a post where said person claimed the alt.

@Rob119 I wouldn't rely on other people to report things for something you're already going to be reporting. They could provide different or inadequate evidence to justify a ban.

@Squirrel I didn't personally, but someone else did as an add on to my report

When you reported said alt, did you provide links, direction, etc. on where this infringing alt behavior?
I say this because the mods usually do a pretty good job of banning alts if they're provided with sufficient evidence and direction on alt behavior via the incriminating account.

@Rob119 you’re not obligated to spotlight anything. You can’t argue you’re harming anyone else if you never intended to use those spotlights elsewhere.

I cannot imagine how it would be considered against the rules. It’s your own audience. If it were posted on your main they’d see it anyways.
