Who else thinks that Simple Planes needs countermeasures (for those of you who don't know, countermeasures are flares/chaff)? I've only found a few planes that can even avoid missiles and I feel like there should be some sort of flares to help with that (not unlimited flares but it could be just 2 or 3 sets of them per countermeasure block).
I know how to get infinite flares just add "ammo" and put whenever number you want
So they don't work at all anymore. No amount of chaff or flairs protect me from any missile. Air controlled trucks, ships, those little AA turret in basically the Simple Planes north pole, other aircraft, NOTHING. Not unless i use so many i don't have enough for a second strike. WTF
We got em now. Lol
@Viper28 Yeah, and I think I just solved my problem at least for now (Isn't as good of a solution as countermeasures) with my newest jet...
If they did add heat seekers, they should be really easy to lock on, have the same range as the guardians, but be un reliable a bit just like real ones. @MrNarwhal35
@Viper28 Nice. But yeah, my point is, Simple Planes kinda needs countermeasures. Even if there is the possibility of evading, its annoying to have to keep doing that instead of staying on target and actually being able to shoot back quickly.
Chaff is strips of metal that are deployed out of the back of jet engines. They come out extremely hot and they reflect radar waves confusing missiles. Basically red hot fragments of metal flying out the back end of a jet. @MrNarwhal35
@Viper28 What does chaff even look like when its deployed?
Yess it is spectacular @MrNarwhal35
@Viper28 They should add some heat seeking missiles just so they can add chaff and flares haha. If you've ever seen a video of a plane deploying flares you know why I want them.
The only problem is that all the missiles here are radar guided. Also the other type of counter measure is called chaff.
@Thomasj041 Alright. Adding onto the countermeasures thing, i feel like even if they wouldn't work because the missiles aren't heat-seeking, flares would just look completely awesome anyways.
Try using my tomcat. It might work for you. @MrNarwhal35
@Thomasj041 Usually that doesn't work too well for me unless the aircraft is extremely agile. Maybe its just an iOS thing... my Mac usually doesn't like working well some of the time so it wouldn't surprise me if it just acted a bit differently.
I find missiles typically lock directly onto the cockpit block.
One thing I did was put a cockpit on a really tall stalk, and rolled it away real quick at the last moment.
That's how I won the SAM challenge.
Yep, less the trim. That has been added in the most recent update.
I just sort of roll while pitching up and it seems to work fine
The missles in game are both IRL, and radar. IRL missles are easy enough to dodge, but radar guided missles would require chaff, EMPs, or jamming. Only missles that are guide to heat sources, heat seeker, are the only missles that respond to flares. Of course there are also sonar and radio guided missels, however, they would be easy to defeat. Also, why don't we go back to the 50s, AA rockets. @General360 @MrNarwhal35
@General360 I don't think the missiles that the planes fire are, just the ones at the snow base. My point is, there needs to be some way other than trying to avoid them since about 99% of the time thats impossible.
And chaff
