Some much needed help with the fine tuner mod

47 epcbluec  8.2 years ago

Having downloaded the fine tuner mod to finish the bodywork on a buggy I have been making, I realised that you can't actually mirror parts that have been rotated, and most of the time you can't even mirror anyway, because "other parts are in the way". For now I've spent about 3 or 4 hours on a job that should have only taken 1, and it just gets insanely frustrating to have to readjust every part for both sides seperately, and in the end it isn't even perfectly symmetrical (gasp). Clearly there must be something I am doing wrong, because I see other perfectly symmetrical creations uploaded here that have clearly used some modding to make. I really hope someone here can help me out, I really want to learn the tips to using fine tuner

If possible, take the entire section youre building and save it in the subassembly. Then take it and rotate it, then connect it.

the "mirror aircraft" button in the menu will usually work even if there is a part on the other side of the aircraft.

i think i get your prolem you see when you place a block down and conect it to the craft even if you move the block with the fine tuner mod its still registered as connected to the original position so if thats then covered up it cant mirror there...
and if that doesnt help mirror the peices in the normal rotation and then change it, remember you can actually type in the rotation degrees to get it spot on precise

@epcbluec no, as I said, they can mirror inside if each other, so you don't have to worry about that anymore.

@BaconEggs ah for example flatten them and use them like structural panels? But won't I still get the same problems I have now?

Use fuselage blocks.. they can clip in the editor, and be in any shape you want.
