Alright so I've made a car that needs some fine tuning on suspension (in game suspension not custom). What it does currently is almost any time the car turns it spins out and I've been messing around with it for a while. I need to know what the best on road settings for suspension is.
lower the forward and side traction of the front wheels
@RedHawk Or you could just give it really hard suspension, or awd it.
@CWhat016 Thanks!
Plus watch your tire size and width...wider tires usually grip more
Like its almost on the ground
@CWhat016 so your car sits lower?
I used a "bent axle" design @redhawk which seemed to help
@RedHawk Aye, see it myself? Gladly, thank you. That'd make things easier.
@RedHawk Now that is interesting! Well, I'm afraid I'm not equipped to help you there unless I were to see what was happening. I'm assuming you know what damper and suspension do and how they affect eachother, so I'll spare you the lecture. I'd say, because I can't see it myself, you'd best keep tinkering. I guess that's what SP is for!
Would you like to see the car for yourself to see if you can get it? @OtterOfToast
@OtterOfToast yeah I've got road tires, it's on a muscle car so I don't need it to be glued to the road I just don't want this spinning thing it does, so I tried changing traction and it really didn't do much from what I could see. However changing the spring strength and damper in the suspension seemed to decrease or worsen the spin.
@RedHawk Oooohhh forgive me-- spinning out... I follow you, now. A problem there may be in the tires. Are you using proper tires on your vehicle? Road tires for tracks, offroad tires for... Offroad-- all that jazz?
@OtterOfToast by spin out I mean traction is "lost" in the wheels, so it doesn't flip.
I'm afraid it may not be just your suspension. To resist flipping over, a wider frame is in order. Just as well, a lower chassis would suit you well, but if you can't meet either of these for cosmetic or functional reasons, I'm afraid I'm not sure how to help. I hope this does help!
