Another week...

142k BaconEggs  8.2 years ago

I'm taking forever on this project, but it's still going. I really don't want to cancel it, because I've already put in 20-30 hours of work into it. I hate myself for doing this, but I have to do it because of final projects in school, they haunt me!

Here's a couple pictures of it:

Sorry for the inconvenience.

    @MrMecha Err, yeah, two. They don't need to be replicas, but they need to be themed in a replicative manner.

    1. Chinese themed mech, has to be a crimson-maroon color for primary, maybe add a tiny bit of white or yellow trim, it also has to have an inbuilt sword that extends from inside the arm, I'll get more details once I get a concept drawing if it in time.
    2. Russian-themed mech, I want it to look more steampunk or low-tech than the other mechs, big flat surfaces, and it has to look like a tank, or something that's very powerful. I think a dark or olive green color with a small bit of red trim.

    Give these some cool detail, like robot-esc stuff in between any plating, like a torso section or the arm connection. I want the feel of power with the Russian one, and swift and acrobatics with the Chinese mech.

    @BaconRoll they are attached then moved out while still attached to the joint origin. No, the nuc-payload won't be there, but the sting blades will be on LandingGear input to deploy.

    @MrMecha Then my mech could just stomp on it if it was pissed off by your mech ;)

    "Just hold on, Cherno, we're on our way!"

    Geez, it looks good, but a few questions. Firstly, why are the arms floating? Secondly, will this mech have the nuclear payload on its back or arm-blades?

    @MrMecha Heh, so I was thinking about this in the shower last night, so what's the tallest mech you've built?

    @MrMecha Well, a string of them. I can't imagine that's sturdy, because it would go right through the body wobbling and probably break itself.

    @LatteCoffee55 Piston powered m8, of course you may have read that, it would be near impossible to use powered rotators since it would have more wobble and fluctuation in the leg joints.

    @BaconEggs If you can make legs wich wont have powered rotators you must be god

    @Externaldarkness Haha
    It is real, I've put all the effort into that I could have in one airliner, the most important thing will be leg movement. Pistons, shocks, the rotators will be free-spin. It will be multi-input, VTOL, TRIM, and qweasd controls. It probably would break 100, but I'd be surprised if it passed the P-51 at highest rated. But hey, who wants to bet if it does?
